Discovered after lunch one day with my ex-colleagues, we were walking around Redhill Market Food Centre to look for something to snack on back in the office when we stumbled upon Bread Station. I’ve got to be honest, it was the price that attracted me first. The buns and cakes on display looked really good, but come on, in the middle of a hawker centre? The first thing I tried was the custard bun and boy, was I hooked. The custard filling was absolutely delicious, not too sweet and cloying but just nice, that combined perfectly with the bread. Finishing up the bread in record time, I made a detour back to the shop to get more custard buns, along with other assorted breads to try. You have got to try their custard buns, polo butter buns, mini chiffon cakes and sweet potato bun. And with prices extremely cheap, you can afford to go wild!

The bread here is made fresh everyday, does not contain any pork or lard and is generally quite economical in terms of prices. What drew me to first buy from this stall was the eggtarts, which were priced at $ 1.70 for 2 and $ 2.40 for 3. They were tasty but not outstanding, and would have probably enjoyed the bread more, had I purchased them. Would want to try the polo butter bread($ 1) next time, as the name is not only unique, the bread also was visually tempting. Opening hours: 6.30am-9pm. Closed on either Mondays or Fridays.
