I believed I tried the prawn noodles from this stall a couple of years ago and did not think it was great. Obviously I forgot about it and so ordered from it again as it was night time and not many stalls were opened. Plus there were a few people waiting in line to order. So logically with a short queue(or at least people ordering when the center is quiet) plus some write-ups plastered over the stall, you would think it should be decent food, right? Wrong. This was pretty much one of the worst prawn noodle soup I ever had. It was a disappointment as I had expected an old established food center to be full of authentic traditional good food stalls. I ordered the dry version. The chili was lackluster and lacked the fiery heat. The meat was dry and a bit tough. The prawns were so-so, the only good thing was they were de-shelled leaving only the head and tail on. The soup. Oh the soup. It was bland. It took a very long time to even discern the faint prawn stock in it. The hallmark of a good prawn noodle soup would be the soup. It has to be robust with a prawn-y taste in it. Rich and dark brown should be the color, not a pale watery brown liquid. I told a friend about it and she mentioned it was really not very good. Ahhhh… lesson learnt. Must remember never to order from this stall again.
