This Pizza Hut used to be the only pizza place in Bedok Central before all these developments took place. It’s been here at Block 215 for as long as I can remember; probably when I was still in primary school? But ever since Bedok Point and Bedok Mall opened, they began to lose customers. Long gone were the days where we could see how full and abuzz the restaurant was. Even when we walked in today, a weekday, we were the only customer. It felt kind of awkward since the place is pretty big with plenty of seats. I have walked past this restaurant many times on weekends, and even then, the place was always quite empty. I think the main reason is due to the location. It’s placed in front of a residential block, along a small street. Yes, like I stated earlier, it used to be popular — «used to». But with two new malls nearby; which may I add, situated near a train and bus interchange, people would no longer bother go to such areas when they can easily get the same stuff in the malls. So why did I come here then? I didn’t want the crowd and noise. The Pizza Hut at Bedok Mall is pretty noisy, since that one is sort of err… outdoor seating. Here, I can simply appreciate the quietness and serenity of the place. But like I mentioned earlier, it was pretty awkward since my Mum and I were the only customers, whilst the 3 to 4 staff members just loitered around the other seats and had their own group chat. I wouldn’t have minded if there were at least 2 more groups of customers… Oh well! I know. I’m complicated. It’s a personal problem of mine. Food was alright. Although I never understand why I always try to give Pizza Hut dining a second chance with their beef lasagnes. The lasagnes I get whenever I called them up for home delivery always tasted better than the ones I tried whilst dining in. The plated ones are either too soggy or oily. Home delivered ones are better and cheesier all the entire times I ordered.
