Pasir Ris MRT Station

This station has been part of my life in East Singapore for the past few months and I must say it is not so crowded when you ride during the right time. Even though it is far from where I live I still love the fact that it is close to a lot of nice places along the way even though it is a bit of a long walk to the station from my HDB place. There is a tiny mall by the MRT station which is so nice because never once in my life I can have everything where I needed. If you stay in PRSG take the MRT from here and save money. It feels like Cupertino but with a subway
Drawback: the trains can be late at times so plan accordingly because some of them connect with Changi Airport. The bike racks are for first come first serve bases so be careful during the peak hours as with all public transport stations in the world.

I live a couple streets away, so I use this station a lot.
there’s not a whole lot to shout about, nor complain about — it’s clean, simple and safe, and with all the little shops around it (not even counting everything in white Sands next door), it’s got more than what you need for a train station.
I’ll miss the EZ link counter — if I need to buy a new card now, I have to go to the Station Control booth, which I think is an odd place for transit card sales and transactions when they are originally tasked with making sure the station and train operations are running smoothly.
Steve’s also mentioned the bike parking spaces outside, and they’ve also built a new covered lot across the street as well, so good news for cyclists!

I use this station almost everyday and since it’s the Eastern most station, you could possibly get a seat when you get on during the morning and evening rush times. It used to be a dead station (I preferred it then, nice and quiet). There is definitely more people around now, now that Downtown East has come up, but it’s not as crazy as Tampines and Bugis.
What I Love: The station has a huge bike parking lot — so a lot of people park their bikes and it’s environmentally friendly. Walking towards the MRT station, you’d see little shops, my fave being a Malay Kueh stall, which always sells all sorts of yummy stuff. There’s a cute little convenience store, Buzz, that sells all the classic candy and preserved fruit stuff that I love. Quite a few food stalls and services present: 7-​Eleven, Japanese Sushi Stall, Jewelry and Piercing Shop (I know, pretty out there eh!) and even a tiny Clinic in the station itself. Cool eh?
What I Don’t Love: Nothing much. Sometimes, when the wind is strong, you could smell the ocean. Not a huge fan of that. Apart from that, love this station! ;)
