First off, I ant to say that e following dishes that I had is the Pasir Ris Ananas, not at this Outram Rd. I can’t decide which noodle dish is better– the wanton mee(old fave) or dry fishball noodles. Both were so good, and I loved every mouthful. The wonton mee is soft and smooth, the sauce not too salty and the wonton nicely cooked. The generous vegetables were a big plus. The sambal does not have much kick, though. The fishball noodles were slightly less salty, and the fish balls are bigger than others I have eaten– very soft and not chewy at all. I’ll have it again next time! Their chicken rice is oiler than I like, so paying some extra cents and worth it, though, is their char siew chicken rice. My god, it is fantastic. The slices were a lovely red colour and moist, going perfectly with the aromatic white rice. Don’t eat with the chilli sauce! It overpowers. The soup is excellent, one of the best I’ve had. The you tiao is something I will not miss. It’s just too oily to the point I feel lipsticked with oil. Generally, the fried items are not so bad. Dig in– don’t be bothered if its too much oil or salt. Ananas is just another reason to enjoy hawker food while it lasts. :)
