I have heard about a «really really good» Sandwich place in International Plaza. In fact when i worked on Anson road a few years back, my coworker brought me here. The one thing they couldn’t tell me is the name of the place… because apparently, there is none. Fast forward five years later I found myself back in Tanjong Pagar at lunch time, wondering if the shop still exists. So i ventured down to International Plaza and let my memory took me where I thought the shop was. I have to add that I have extraordinary memory when it comes to food. And there it was. Tucked at the back of International Plaza — still small, still nameless, still popular, and most importantly still yummy as ever. This time I got corned beef sandwich from their gourmet menu. All I can say is… I wish i work in Tanjong Pagar so I can come here everyday for lunch. So delicious, so affordable($ 9!) and where else in Singapore can you find a nameless sandwich shop that does well just based off word of mouth? I have been told the official name for this place is actually Kat and Alfie’s Sandwich shop, but it’s just rumors. Can someone confirm?

Without any — ANY — doubt, the best sandwich place in Singapore. Only problem is that it has no name: you enter International Plaza on the Tanjong Pagar side, go past the 7⁄11 and turn right: it’s right at the end facing you. At lunch time, there is usually a queue, so take your time and decide what type of bread you care for(no, this is not Subway but this bit is similar), and what you want to have on it: ranging from egg mayonnaise, fried vegetables, tuna, smoked salmon wiht your choice of tomatoes, ghurkins, avocado — and this for between 6 and 7.5SGD. Not to forget friendly service that recognized me after 6 months away ;))
