Nandos is pretty good. I personally have to be in the mood for Nandos but when I have it, it’s decent. This review is not about the quality of Nandos, however, it is about the service at their tanglin mall location. I live close by so I come here relatively often and the service is always the same. It’s never too crowded so I’m not sure what the problem is. If you ever go here bring your own water bottle, you’ll regret it if you don’t because the chicken can be spicy and the staff here never refill water glasses, even when you ask for a water refill specifically. Their service is just so slow, somehow it takes like 30 mins for them to bring you the check. Another thing is the peri sprinkle, if you order fries or wedges with peri sprinkle, don’t expect there to be any. Every time I have asked for it while ordering, they forget it and I have to ask again, only to wait 15 mins before I get any

Ordered the mild quarter peri peri chicken which is their specialty. Chicken was actually not bad and flavorful. I tried a few of the sauces the garlic peri peri(which was the best), the mild and hot sauces and the herb one(which was not so good). My friend ordered the hot rating chicken wrap. Could feel the spiciness through my nose. Definitely not recommended for the ang moha who can’t take spicy. The sides of chips and coleslaw were good.

To be sure you can find some less expensive, great options for chicken in Singapore. But, if you need a peri-peri fix, you can always get it at Nando’s. I’m used to eating at the Nando’s stores in the Washington, DC area so this is like a little taste of home. The chickens do seem a bit smaller here compared with what you get in the states but that to me is comforting and makes me wonder what they are giving the chickens in the US to make them grow so big. Great place for capsaicin lovers.

Nandos is known for their so called signature Peri Peri chicken. But for me, I think they chicken does not taste particularly outstanding, and the sauces on the table actually tastes better and are more flavorful than what is used to marinate the chicken. Which shouldn’t be the case isn’t it? But at least the food is served hot, and the side dishes are not that bad after all… Also, this is a very quiet outlet at Tanglin Mall, possibly because there aren’t many fans of the Nandos chicken anyway.
