Service is quite slow for dinner. We didn’t have reservations and the place was empty. It’s cool they have the trio thing but given the recommendation we went straight for the rib eye. Bread was not fresh, they just toasted it right before serving us, not like Spago. It was onion bread with butter and black salt. We ordered crab cake and charred octopus salad also. Octopus was chewy but the char grilled was not as char grilled as I would like them to be. Taste was good though. And crab cakes were okay, it was too breaded for me, but I guess Singaporeans like it. The steak made up for it though.

Sear is the probably the go to Steak House in the Raffles Place. Located on the 42nd Floor of the Singapore Floor, it has sweeping views of the Singapore’s CBD. I didn’t come here for the views, but rather bring my wife to a nice to Steak Dinner on a Friday night. Surprisingly, the restaurant was rather quiet on a Friday night with only three other patrons. I didn’t complain too much as it made for a quiet and intimate dinner. Our order was as follows: Appetizer: Split Bone Marrow — Scrape off the marrow from the bone and spread it across the three thin wafers. Just lovely… wish there was more… :) Main Course: — Tasting of Trio, which includes a cut of Tenderloin, Sirloin, and Wagyu Ribeye — The star of the show was clearly the Wagyu Ribye. Perfect amount of marble with a good mix of salt and pepper to accentuate the flavors. The Sirloin was ehh(likely because the Rib Eye was so good). The Tenderloin was solid, but like most Tenderloin dishes needs a great sauce to make it work. — Sear Tasting of Ribeye, which includes a cut of Kobe Beef, NZ Hereford, and Wagyu Ribeye — The star of this order was the Kobe Beef(probably the most expensive of the lot) and of course the Wagyu Ribeeye, which is the same as the previous order. Overall a solid steak restaurant. Prices I thought were just right relative to the quality of the cuts of meat given. My recommendation would be start off with the Split Bone Marrow and go for a full order of the Australian Jacobs Creek Wagyu Ribeye steak — 250 grams. You can’t go wrong.
