Chocolate lovers would like this place just because everything here is chocolate. My friend and I tried the Italian cream and spicy hot chocolates respectively. The Italian cream was really thick, which is great at first but gets too sweet and jelat later on. The spicy hot chocolate was actually pretty spicy, but I only tasted a bit of it so I don’t know whether the spiciness wears off. My friend seemed to like it pretty well. It’s a good place to have a long afternoon chat since it’s very quiet, but it can get pricey and the chocolate drink was too sweet for my taste.

My friend and I ordered The Italian and Mexican Hot Dark Chocolate drinks. The Italian drink was a bit too thick to drink and didn’t taste unique. If you like to spice up your hot chocolate, I’d recommend the Mexican drink. I could taste the spice from the cinnamon and nutmeg. However, the spice tapered after a couple of sips. Though it was good, it wasn’t worth $ 7.50 for the drinks, especially since the drinks got cold really quickly.

Maybe I just have unreasonable expectations, but this seemed overpriced, overprocessed, and mediocre. I asked what their most popular milkshake was and they recommended the 80’s chocolate shake. It came with a scoop of not very good vanilla ice cream on top(instead of mixed in) with what looked/tasked like Smucker’s hard shell chocolate topping on top — not something I would normally eat. Then the milkshake hurt my teeth because there were big chucks of ice in it. Who puts ice in a milkshake? Especially an $ 11 milkshake? I feel like this is a case of paying more to get a worse product. I wish I had gone to Ben & Jerry’s or Cold Stone.

If you call yourself a chocolate lover, then you should really head down to Max Brenner Chocolate Bar to try some of their chocolate and chocolate-inspired delights. I was recommended to order the hot chocolate, or rather the hug mug. Although Singapore isn’t that cold to truly enjoy a piping hot chocolate to warm you body, I really loved how rich the chocolate in your drink tasted. It is also a good place for desserts, but of course, you got to pay a little more for their quality cocoa.

I think almost every chocolate lover in town must have heard of Max Brenner’s Chocolate Bar. It has some of the best chocolate in town. The concept of the stall is really pretty. We ordered banana crêpe with caramel and chocolate dip. When it comes, the crêpe looks super crispy. When we opened the crêpe, there is chocolate inside it together with banana. My suggestion will be, the crêpe is already pretty sweet. Therefore, the dip is not required. It tasted really nice. For some reason, I can’t help linking it back to roti prata stuffed with banana and chocolate inside. Their chocolate is really sweet. But it does giving me an urge to go back for more. Will definitely be a frequent customer if their prices are cheaper?

Love chocolate? Then Max Brenner is a must-try. There is enough chocolate on the menu to make an Oompa-Loompa giddy! Try the traditional hot chocolate for starters. It really fills you with warmth that seeps to all corners of your soul. The chocolate soufflé is to die for, though it’s a bit too rich. Then again, I’m not so huge a fan of chocolate so others may find it just right. My favourite is the Fantastic Popsicle Chocolate Fondue. You’re given a vanilla ice cream and three small bowls of chocolate stuff to dip, such as hazelnut and tiny chocolate balls. If you’re going to order only one thing, make it this! The service is not fantastic, but the staff aren’t rude or anything, just a little inattentive but it’s not a big problem. Also, I’m not really sure how they wash the metal straws! :O
