this is my go to Indian place(when i cant make it to little India). I have never had anything that i dont like. i find the service to be very good with a friendly staff. the pricing is reasonable considering the location. I always order the butter chicken, lamb vindaloo and then gobi and dahl… i have tried many other things but i am always drawn back to these staples

It’s taken me too long to write a review for the Maharajah. Have been going here on and off for the last few years. Always consistently good, with great service. While the long walk along Boat Quay involves running the«gauntlet» of people enticing you into their restaurants with free beer, the Maharajah is one of the few that does not do this. Instead they rely on word of mouth with great friendly service. Probable more in tune with what people from the UK view as Indian food, the Maharajah loses out in the authenticity stakes among the locals, but don’t let that stop you from going. The menu is more North Indian and without exception is excellent quality. The«heat» levels are fine unless you decide to challenge the chef when ordering. Wonderful service, good value for boat Quay, great ambience outdoors with the cool breeze from the river and we liked it so much we had our reception there when we got married.
