D’Bell: It’s delightful, it’s delicious, it’s de-lovely! :) Since D’Bell was offering 20% off your bill in June if you reserve through Chope, my colleagues and I decided to take them up on the offer. We went during lunch, and it was fairly quiet. Perhaps it’s because they’re kinda the new kid on the block, and the CBD crowd hasn’t realized that there’s an awesome lunch to be had here. Although the set lunches were affordable($ 15++) they didn’t really appeal to us. The entrees are portioned for 2 – 3 people, so we decided to just order a few and share. To start, we had papadum, which was served with 3 different chutneys, all delish. We then ordered the palak paneer, butter chicken, and rogan josh. Again, all of it was well done, and the butter chicken was definitely my fave– tender chicken, super creamy sauce. Add in their fragrant biryani rice and all was well in the world! What surprised me was the naan, specifically the Kashmiri one. How I’ve never tried it before is beyond me, but I’m glad Josh T. ordered it because now I’m hooked. For the uninitiated, it’s flatbread with dried fruit, nuts, and herbs– when it’s served fresh out of the oven it’s ommmmmgahhhh so good. I loved the ambiance(contemporary soft rock Indian music in the background) and the upscale décor; it’s the perfect setting for a business lunch or a girl’s outing. They’ve been promoting their lounge on the second floor, which also comes with a sweet ladies night deal(complimentary glass of mojito or bubbly, and a free bottle of bubbly with a booking for 5 ladies and an order of 5 mains.) For our group of 10 and the small discount, we paid about $ 20 per person. I wouldn’t mind revisiting with my gal pals in the future!
