Really fast and delicious. It’s hidden away on the really awesome Purvis food street. If you’re a tourist like me trying to get as many Singaporean dishes as possible, this is a great place to do it. Got the kaya toast and laksa for breakfast and hoping to get more later!

Killiney Kopitiam on Purvis — 4Stars as a No-frills«Class of Hawker Eatery» Killiney is a little local fast food café on Purvis, right across the famous Saveur. This Killiney branch offers a variety of simple but tasty meat, fish, or vegie dishes at around S$ 5 each; hot coffee or tea for S$ 1.30 — very good value! My wife and I had lunch there twice, both times the food was excellent. We especially like their delicious curry chicken with rice or prata on the side, ~S$ 5; fried rice, S$ 4.50. The hot coffee, and Tea, S$ 1.30ea, are excellent, too! The décor of Killeney is very plain, and its service is minimal. A waite or waitress may come take your order, but it’s quicker to go up to the counter to place your orders; a wait staff will bring them to your table and you can pay him/her. In other words, «No frills, just cheap, good food that hits the spot!» BTW: — Purvis is a popular, busy small street, full of eateries ranging from no-frills fast food place to more plush restaurants and bars. Killiney Kopitiam has several outlets and all of them are popular for its breakfast set consisting of toasts and eggs, and also local fare. I find the outlet at Purvis Street incredibly convenient since it is central and find myself eating there often. The setting is of a slightly more modern coffee shop, with marble tables. The best dish I have eaten there has to be the Penang Fried Kway Teow. The dish is tasty and flavorful, fragrant even. This Penang version uses thin rice noodles, with egg, fishcake, bean sprouts and prawns. The sauce used here is savory, instead of the local style where the fried kway teow is sweeter. I personally prefer this version of the dish to the local version. The service here is very average though. They are impolite, to the extent of being rude. Also, the staff mostly speak Mandarin which definitely lowers the standards of the coffee shop.
