Ordered the special sauce chicken Ipoh horfun and also their traditional set meal. One thing I like about the chicken was how they use kampong chicken. Have a personal preference for those cus I think they’re healthier. However, there was too many bones for my liking. Their chili is different from your typical hainanese chicken but it’s not too bad. Comes with something that looks garlicky too. As for the horfun, I liked how soft and smooth it is! Their sauces and all are nothing too spectacular. But the horfun itself is good enough for the amount I’m paying. Overall an above average place to go to for a quick meal!

Not bad. Their rice has tad stronger ginger taste than the usual chicken rice. The real deal in Ipoh is tastier. One set of chicken rice(a bowl of rice, a small plate of chicken with a pile of beansprouts beneath and a bowl of soup) costs $ 6.50.

Ipoh, Ipoh… what is it about you? I have been unable to forget you since first tasting your version dining with my cousin and his family. Two more times after… each time solo’ing another half order of chicken, plate of bean sprouts, and a couple bowls of rice… I still can’t get enough. So was it a surprise that I still want another round in my last few weeks in Singapore? Nope. Would it surprise you, however, if I told you I had the same order twice in one day? Maybe, but I sure did. Although having it already for a late lunch, I just still felt compelled to have it again for dinner. Just one more before I leave right? Saucier and skinnier chicken that comes with a really tangy chilli sauce of medium heat and fragrant diced ginger. Smooth rice and a side of flavorful bean sprouts that are cooked just right. Yeah, totally SMEXY! NOTE: Very limited seating of about 20… and has been packed every time I passed by it during meal hours. I strongly suggest eating earlier or later. For those who don’t know who are wondering how this is different from standard Singapore chicken rice:(a) the chicken is free-range(or better known as kampong chicken); and(b) the bean spouts are plumper and have a better crunch to them.
