Hong Xiang Hainanese Chicken Rice

Simply Amazing Chicken Rice! With Tian Tian, Ah Tai and Hong Xiang, Maxwell Food Centre cements its place as the best place in Singapore to get Chicken Rice. The difference in taste between the three stalls is so minor that it doesn’t really matter, which stall you choose. Your only selection criteria is the line :-)
However…, if you want me to be specific:
Hong Xiang: Good Fragrant rice and solid chicken
Tian Tian: the best tasting chicken in Singapore, period. — Anthony Bourdain is right on this one!
Ah Tai: better fragrant rice than Tian Tian or Hong Xiang, but would choose the chicken from the latter.
Tourists — go to Tian Tian, if you want to say you ate at the Anthony Bourdain rated shop. Locals — choose the shortest line among the three.
FYI, this was the only chicken rice stall open in Maxwell Food Centre during CNY!

I like that the lady uses a spray bottle to apply the sauce to your chicken. A spray bottle! What will they think of next!

Incredibly delicate soy sauce and white chicken. The balance of sweet and savory are amazingly put together here. The owners are very attentive and each plate is prepared with care. I have no idea what he does to the chicken, but he skin and meat are incredibly moist and flavorful. Also, the meat is not overly salty like with many other chicken rice places.

So far the best Chicken Rice I’ve tried. The key seems to be in the flavor of the rice and the quality of their hot sauce which was excellent here.
