We came to Hatched twice on a Sunday for lunch after church. Both times we sat upstairs by the window. The cappuccino was on the bitter side and needed extra sugar to mask it. I ordered a salmon egg Benedict with two eggs both times. The first time one egg was perfectly cooked with a thick runny yoke while the second egg was almost well done. The second time, one egg was slightly under cooked where the egg whites and just set and the yoke barely warmed, while the second egg was cooked a bit longer. So the eggs are not cooked consistently. With a restaurant that’s egg themed, one would have expect them to be the master of eggs. My eldest son ordered the salmon with scramble egg. While he enjoyed the egg and salmon, the toast underneath was just a piece of plain dry bread. My 4 year old ordered the dippy egg and soldiers. It was a fun dish for a child. He enjoyed dipping the plain toast stick into the soft egg and rolling it in bacon crumbs. The supposedly cheese crumbs didn’t taste anything like cheese at all and cover very well be left out. The French toast sticks were average and on the dry side. The chicken wings were yummy and spicy. The supposedly baked egg with gooey cheese, mushroom and bacon was a little disappointing. While the cheese topping was gooey alright while still hot, the egg yoke was like a crumbly hard boiled egg. It tasted ok without the egg and would had been much more enjoyable with a soft runny egg. Again, the supposedly egg expert screwed up on the egg once again. There is a egg themed toy section on the first floor right in front of the cashier which children can play with various egg toys. The older male(owner?) was very friendly and got a small basket of toys for my baby to play with. Overall it was an enjoyable experience for the children.

Decoration was wonderful but atmosphere was lacking(no music at all!) the food was also distinctly lacklustre — the coffee was awfully bitter/burnt and the food, whilst looking good, came with hardly cooked toast, lack of butter, and seemed to be lacking something. Considering the price, give it a miss.

Quality food and coffee, but at a hefty price. A latte and an omelette breakfast will run you circa $ 25 here with service charge included. There are better options around that offer a much better price point for similar fare. You can compare with D’Good Café or Da Paolo Gastromina and see which you prefer. I feel you are paying too much for the ambiance and hip student vibe at Hatched… Hence I will give it 2 stars for featuring overpriced breakfast fare.

The deco is super effort and cute. But the food is not that great. I would say the food is not yucky to say but it needs a dose of salt here and there. I’m not sure it’s because the shop is gunning for a healthy lifestyle thingie but everything is kinda unseasoned. We got the Cowboy Burger and Burly Benedict. Both ok lah. No my likely to return as the meal is too expensive and too unmemorable liao.

Great service and food! I ordered the eggs Benedict with one egg and it was pretty filling. $ 13 dollars for a decent sized meal. My one problem was that the potatoes we’re very plain, so if you go i would ask for some salt. The interior is very nicely decorated with various mascots and chicken themed decorations. Tip: this place is all about eggs

Okay, so this place is probably great in terms of the ambience and setting but unfortunately it’s food cannot be considered in the same category. Ordered the popeye’s salute and sir benedicts with a friend and frankly, I had trouble swallowing it. And the price point of 20 bucks of it is exorbitant. The ONLY thing in the food that was cool — they poached the eggs really well? If you’re feeling fancy then this is the place to come.

We went there for breakfast, the environment was noisy, and Hatched was a horrible experience. Small portion of food, overpriced menu and bad service from young waitresses that didn’t really care. I would not recommend going to this one. We ended up going to Breko café after we ate at Hatched.

Popular sunday hangout with the whole host of egg dishes that protein lovers will enjoy. Though they opened half an hour late as per their website, service was prompt and friendly. For a sweet tooth girl like me, this was an okay experience. Bread pudding(dessert of the week) was just average. Would recommend savory palate people and egg lovers to head here and just arrive a little later than stipulated time so you don’t have to wait in front of the metal grill and look like a desperate hungry person.

The water tasted weird — I couldn’t place it but it definitely didn’t taste like lemon. We had the«Deli in France» — the cream of mushroom tasted like it was out of a can, the bread was not sufficiently toasted, and the pesto-smeared tomato was unsatisfyingly raw. The«Where’s Waffle» did come with real maple syrup and the compote tasted pleasant enough, but the latter consisted mostly of strawberry and the waffle itself felt stodgy and unremarkable. Their poached eggs felt rubbery and tasted slightly acidic. It’s likely that they used vinegar to help the egg hold together — a shortcut that makes it easier to get away with using stale eggs, but compromises on texture and taste. A restaurant purporting to specialise in eggs could have done better, especially at their prices.

A bit sad to see one of my favorite brunch spots opening a location in hv. Guess that’s about the same as being discovered… But that said the food went a long way towards lessening my disappointment. The eggs royale were terrific as always and the Philly was really solid too.

A frownie point(and a huge hit to my review on them) are their prices. An egg costs about 30 cents in a supermarket — but a pair of basic Eggs Benedict can come up to $ 17(after service charge &GST). What’s up with that? And because they are just so versatile and scrumptious, there are just too many egg-enthusiasts who can’t live without their egg-fixes in the mornings. If you happen to be one of them, you’re going to have a ball of fun at Hatched. And for those who to stand out amongst all the eggy dishes at the brunch-table, or those who just can’t stand eggs, Where’s Waffle is the perfect way to go! Served with fresh blueberries, butter, fresh cream and maple syrup, these waffles are as good as waffles can get.

I wish I could like Hatched more. But unfortunately I have been disappointed too many times. I used to frequent the outlet near the Botanic Gardens and was excited to hear that they were opening an outlet in Holland Village. The food is not bad, but its not great either. Last time I came I ordered French Toast with a side order of potatoes and I was really disappointed. The French Toast was really dry, it wasn’t served with butter or syrup. I had to ask the waitress for it. The potatos were overcooked and dry. It was so bad that I didn’t even finish my meal. And its not even that cheap either. It’s a shame because the restaurant is really nice, especially the upstairs which is bright and spacious with a nice view.

Another all-day breakfast restaurant — perfect for a breakfast-food-lover like me. As the name Hatched suggests, the restaurant focuses on egg dishes, including those scrambled, poached, sunny-side up and even french toast. Pancakes, another breakfast favourite is of course offered as well. Meat lovers can also opt for the sausage platter, which is already self explanatory; a variety of sausages. Out of these choices, two remain my top picks — Eggs Benedict and Papillote. The first is a classic, with a poached egg balanced atop minced meat and an English muffin, drizzled with hollandaise sauce. Granted, the consistency of the eggs are not always perfect, but are right most of the time. Liquid egg yolk oozes out onto the plate, covering the rest of the ingredients to alleviate the taste. Coupled with the salty minced meat, the flavours are complex and excite your tastebuds, making you crave for more. The sautéed potatoes served together are also delicious with just the right amount of herbs and spices. Papillote features smoked salmon with scrambled eggs and a dollop of sour cream on top of a piece of toast. The salty flavours of the smoke salmon is perfect to balance the taste of the scrambled eggs, eliminating the need to add additional seasonings like salt. But portion and presentation style may vary. Instead of the salmon neatly holding together the scrambled egg, I have received an explosion of scrambled egg topped with smoked salmon on several occasions. But despite appearances, the taste remains excellent as always.

How you like your eggs? Boiled, poached, fried, baked, scrambled or fertilized? Find out what you can do with an egg at Hatched, now also open up at Holland Village! This place is one of my favorite places to go after a heavy night to make your body and soul feel at ease again. Especially second story is a nice place to have your breakfast all day around. Big open space, wooden floors, rays of sunshine piercing through the three through the window on your face. If you are with a friend who doesn’t like eggs for some reason, they also serve pancakes and french toast. Best value for money is the Usual Suspects which at $ 16 will give you an american breakfast with a coffee/tea. Coffee is great.
