Honey lemon tea with pearls and aiyu jelly($ 3.50) — 2 stars Even with less honey this was way too sweet! And the aiyu jelly is molded to the cup such that I finished all the tea before I even got to the jelly. I’d order something else. Black tea latte with no sugar and pearls($ 3.30) — 3 stars Didn’t quite hit the spot. 3 stars because their other drinks are usually better.

Gongcha is my favourite, with tons of their outlets(consistency is there too) all over Singapore. I would recomend you to try the earl grey milk tea and the milk green tea. Its a notch better than the usual milk tea :) P. s, they are sweet so opt for 50% or 80% sugar. 100% is way way too sweet!

This is a good Gong Cha that services the Square 2/Tan Tock Seng area of Novena. It can be a little confusing to find if you’re not familiar with Square 2, though; I think the best directions I can give you is to find it next to Square 2’s taxi stand. The ordering queue is outside, so be prepared to sweat it out if it’s a particularly hot day! I don’t think the waiting taxis or cars nearby help the situation, either. However, the plus side of this outlet is that they actually have an indoor seating area, which I find unusual as many Gong Cha outlets are strictly takeaway. Ordering is very straightforward here, and so far I haven’t had anyone mess up my drink. The waits are very minimal, though it can get busy mid-day when the office/hospital workers are on break. Enjoy beating the heat with some ice-cold Gong Cha deliciousness!

it is my firm believe that gong cha single handedly revived the fate of bubble tea in sg! the bubble tea craze was on a steep decline before their surprising appearance. for me, they represent quality tea. and this is one of the first gong cha outlet before they started sprouting all over our island. i still remember vividly that one of my friend is a partner and boy is he laughing his way to the bank! service is simply fast and they efficiently dish out cup after cup of tealicious goodness. the tapioca pearls are small, soft and not too sweet. easy to digest and waist friendly. there’s wireless@sg, so you can surf and check in while you wait. i tend to make use of the nearby taxi stand benches, provided there isn’t a long taxi queue, during my visits. for those who like to chat over their cuppa, they have limited indoor seating within. i also like being able to custom a 30% sugar level. time will tell if bubble tea is again here to stay but i’m pretty sure gong cha will not suffer a similar fate as happy cup.

I love the herbal jelly here and the taste of the milk tea better than Koi. Also, it’s not as hyped as Koi and the queues aren’t as long. Every time I stay in for lunch and my colleagues go out, they’ll swing by this outlet to get me my afternoon fix! The standard’s the same everywhere so as long as it’s Gong Cha, you know it’ll be great!

In the bubble tea wars I strongly prefer Gong Cha to Koi. The latter has a bit too much of a chemical-ish aftertaste for me. But not all Gong Chas are created equal. This is my vote for the best Gong Cha(that I’ve ever tried). The drinks are consistently good and they’re not helmed by bored part-timers who don’t know what they’re doing, unlike some of the other branches. I only drink the Earl Grey or Alishan milk teas with 50% sugar though, so a more accurate term would be «This is the best Gong Cha for Earl Grey or Alishan Milk teas»! :)
