Golden Village Multiplex

This multiplex has been around for years and it is showing its age.
The location is convenient as it is on Level 7 (top floor) of Plaza Singapura and is served by Dhoby Ghaut MRT interchange with a bus stop right outside the building. It is also the only GV in Orchard area.
There are 10 screens here so you do get a wider choice of movies. The seats are old and not that comfortable. Some part of me always feel a bit icky about sitting there and I would try to wear clothes like jeans or long pants/​skirts so that the legs are not touching the seat. Another reason for that is because friends have told me they saw roaches in the cinemas before. *shudder*
Over here the snack bar is separate from the ticket counter so you will need to go to both places to buy tickets and get food. But there seemed to be less people walking in to buy tickets now, maybe because most do it online and they can just show their tickets on their app too.
An ok cinema in a convenient location. Just don’t expect luxury here. The sound system is still good and image is clear.

It won’t be that bad when it comes to GV. Located at a very convenient and central area for big groups, GV at Plaza Singapura naturally comes as the first choice among places to meet and dine.
I, honestly don’t really like GV at Plaza Sing. The reason is because their seats are quite bad, it’s always filled with noisy moviegoers, and the queues are exceptionally long. Book beforehand is the best way to go.
On the other hand, the timings for blockbuster shows are really good and the scheduling of cinemas are efficient. That’s one thing I like about the cinemas there.
Oh yes, if you’re feeling healthy, opt for a juice at Booze instead of cheating yourself with a diet coke. Yes, you can bring your juice into the cinema. That’s the amazing part.

Golden Village doesn’t show as many «art-​house» shows as say, Cathay or Shaw, but it isn’t too bad if you’re going to catch a standard show.
It’s not as crowded as Cineleisure and there’s the Star Factory arcade next to it.
I guess I’m a very boring person but I sometimes pop in to see what’s playing, buy a ticket then head over to Star Factory and shoot hoops on the basketball game, play some House of the Dead before my movie starts.
It’s run-​of-​the-​mill but I think this is one of the best GV outlets — quite clean and the seats are spacious. This is also one cinema with couple seats if you book early :)))

This is the only Golden Village Cineplex along Orchard Road. It is at quite a convenient location as it occupies the top floor of Plaza Singapura. At the same time, that is also what I dislike about this cinema. Firstly, it is quite a hassle to get up there, and the elevators are slow. Then, it further frustrates when you realize you got to the wrong side. Since the cinemas are 10 screens are spread across two sides, and the ticket box office is in the middle. Honestly, not my favorite cinema at Orchard. Nothing makes it stand out anyway.
