My husband and I were walking around Dempsey on a Sunday, wanting to try a different place for lunch. We were in the mood for burgers, and although we heard Huber’s Butchery serves some good ones, we weren’t interested in eating al fresco because it was so frikken hot! Hungry and desperate for air conditioning, we spotted Go-Go Bambini and liked what we saw on the menu. In addition to burgers, they also had salads and pizzas. Walking in we were a bit confused– why are there so many children here and OMG that’s a huge playground!(Then my Italian brain popped in– bambini means children… ah, I see what they did there.) I think Go-Go Bambini’s concept is genius here in Singapore, and I’m surprised there aren’t more places like it. It’s a family friendly establishment in upscale Dempsey that allows children to run around freely in an indoor playground as the adults chow down on gourmet food offerings! Of course, they also have a children’s menu, and all items from it are served on durable plastic plates and cups so nothing breaks. My husband ordered the GGB(go-go bambini) burger, which is basically a bacon cheeseburger topped with a fried egg. It’s quite epic, and good if you’re super hungry! I had the cheeseburger. I found it juicy and well seasoned. I also liked the fries that came with it. If I could change one thing, it would be the glass sizes for adults. They served us water in what could be a considered a big shot glass in certain bars. Since you pay when you order, the staff didn’t really check on us after our food was served. We had to work to flag them down so they could refill the glasses for us. Other than that, this is a nice spot to check out. If you’re single, don’t let the children scare you away– the food here is worth checking out!
