Not sure if we were here on a bad day or the taste is just not up our alley. The ice creams are too sweet and the flavors not as strong as expected. The waffles were overrated. Maybe more relevant for the younger crowd looking for a hip ice cream bar in their hood. Not sure what’s the hype about. Perhaps it is more for the«cool» factor of a hip ice cream store located in the heartland.

The ice cream shop is located just across the street from the public library, under the HDB block. At first look, one would thought that it offers the usual ice-cream, waffles and drinks. The ice cream is on sale at $ 3.90 a scoop for standard flavours, and $ 4.50 a scoop for premium flavours. One of the interesting flavours which I try is Butter Beer ice-cream which has buttery taste that reminds me of peanut butter but with a hint of beer aftertaste. Besides that the outlet also offers ice cream sticks at $ 6 a piece. It also offers dessert wines and beers. For each day, it also offers a limited number of plated desserts whose flavours vary from day to day. Today there is 3 choices available. Lime Mojito Sphere($ 4.50) It looks a jelly that is going to burst anytime soon. With a single bite, it easily bursts open, filling the mouth with lime flavoured liquid touched with a hint of alcohol. Lychee Martini Dessert($ 16) The first part of the dessert consists of a pink chocolate sphere sitting on yuzu sorbert, served with tomatoes, kiwi berries, grapes and charcoal sauce. The sorbert is refreshing but melts rather fast. Interesting having tomatoes in dessert, but it goes quite well with the charcoal sauce. Inside the sphere is a light pink soufflé mixture, with a jelly like purple colored mixture at the bottom. In a mouthful, it tastes sweet, a hint of sour, with popping effect in the mouth. So exciting. The second part of the plated dessert is a green grape cum blackcurrant ice cream stick, served with sour tasting powder. The powder reminds me of the sour dried plum powder that is usually served with guava fruit but in a finer texture. The green grape part of the ice cream stick is light in taste with bites of the fruit fibre. The blackcurrant side is stronger in taste and melts rather fast. Together they create an explosive taste in the mouth. Lastly is Lime Bomb Bomb which looks like a green colored chocolate ball, but bursting with lime flavoured liquid when bites into. Overall the plated desserts served are very interesting and impressive. The service is quite good too with the staffs reminding me where to get the iced water. The place is not as crowded as I thought to be.

This place is so happening at 8pm on a Monday night that there’s a queue outside the door. You can feel the energy just bursting forth from this place due to its extreme popularity with the youth. They are supposed to be popular for their plated desserts. Gotta come early before they are sold out. We saw almost every table was having the charcoal waffles. We had earl grey ice cream with our charcoal waffles, and added on the salted egg yolk sauce. The flavor of the salted caramel drizzled on the plate worked well with the salted egg yolk sauce to enhance the experience of the waffles. We will be back to try their plated desserts.
