If you love egg tarts, Fancy Delight at Nex will bring you the purest of pleasure. Each time I pass by the stall, I can’t help but be stopped in my tracks by the aromatic smell of baked egg pastries. With an impressive collection of 16 different flavours, these egg tarts are the most innovative I’ve seen thus far. Don’t be fooled by the tarts’ small cup size demeanour for these little guys sure pack a punch. I’m actually not really a diehard fan of egg tarts so I have yet to try most of the flavours here. The tart fillings I’ve tried though are green tea, cheese and apple cinnamon. The green tea egg tart was slightly disappointing because I could barely taste any tea flavour, despite the attractive green shade of the tart pastry. Perhaps the egg concoction was a little too overwhelming for me to sift out the green tea. The apple cinnamon egg tart was pretty sweet, with the apple cinnamon filling complementing the thick, luscious egg curd well. Egg tart isn’t my most favourite food item but if you’re crazy about it then Fancy Delight might be something to check out.
