Slow service. 2 tables of 4 and 2 pax before us, and we had to wait 15 mins before our 1st dish arrived. Nothing spectacular, had better Bak Kut Teh elsewhere. And the price just brought the ratings down to a negative level. 1 bowl of Bak Kut Teh for 2, 1 plate of intestines, 1 small bowl of salted vege and 1 small bowl of tau kee, plus 2 can drinks, $ 26? Almost double the price of those found at coffeeshops. No wonder pricing was not listed, so that they can chop you up good when billing time. Felt like carrot head after that. Never will I return again.

The standard has gone down. Today’s bak kut teh is not as good as in days of old. Pig trotter is still not too bad, soft and succulent.

It sits on a row of car workshops, and it looks empty most of the time… and you wonder about the one auntie that works the counter. Is it so quiet that they only want to hire one person to run the whole shop? Then you realise its because she’s super efficient. Okay so maybe there aren’t that may options here to begin with, but she’s with you in a flash, and asking you if you want the long rib or regular. And if you want tau kee. And if you want salted vegetables. And if you want tau kee. She can be quite persistent. It’s simple food, and since they don’t bother with too much else, it comes fast, and it tastes pretty good. The soup is just the right amount of peppery, and it gets refilled fast. And you get multiple opportunities to order tau kee. If that’s your thing, then you’ll want to come here. I caved. And it was pretty good.
