My boyfriend has been raving about this place for ages! Whenever we have duck rice, he will compare it to Dunman Duckrice’s. Well, this past weekend, we finally sat down in Dunman Food Centre for a bite and ordered that duck rice. I expected to be wowed – I’m sorry, not wowed, but wooed! Was I? Meh. The duck wasn’t fatty enough and the rice tasted like leftover rice, the semi-hard kind that can be used to make fried rice. The duck rice’s herbal seasoning was definitely the best I’ve tried, but everything fell else fell short. Very short. It was just old food that wasn’t fresh or properly warmed to be served. Granted, this was a Saturday afternoon so perhaps weekdays are better. Each meal comes with a bowl of herbal soup, which comes with free refills. The soup was delicious – perfectly seasoned and with goji berries! I loved that herablly taste, but it’s not something I’ll journey over to Katong to try again. Sum: Good soup but nothing else, really.

One of my favourite braised duck stalls. Have yet to try their kway chap(seems popular) but their duck rice is second to few.
