Hooray for new laundromats! Travelers staying on Joo Chiat and those who live nearby have more choices to get their laundry done.
I will do a comparison to nearby Washing Hut, which I go to often.
SIMILARITIES:
— Coin operated, 24 hours.
— Detergent is included in machines.
— Prices for drying are the same, $ 1 for 5 mins, but you only have the option to pay in 10 minute increments.
DIFFERENCES:
— All machines are the same size, about 14 kgs. $ 6 for a wash.
— The machines are a washer and dryer in one.
PROS:
— They offer dry cleaning here (not 24 hours), so it truly is a one-​stop shop.
CONS:
— As there’s only one size machine, it’s not ideal if you have small or large loads. The dryer can only do about a 7 kg capacity, so if you have more than that you’ll have to pay for 2 machines.
— Only one fan, space can feel a bit stuffy.
Washing Hut further up is still my preference, but this is still a very good laundromat. I wouldn’t mind coming back, if I have the right amount of laundry plus dry cleaning to be done.
