Well, forget about this place, it is closed… Really wanted to check it out though. No other address was provided so I guess this is simply the end of the Dibs story in Singapore Too bad

Had a promotion 5 dishes for $ 88 Bone marrow — not bad, creamy, but I preferred the ones at neon pigeon Steak — this was ah-mazing! Would order 1 or 2 or this for each person alone Duck — decent but nothing to scream about Short ribs — quite soft and melted in your mouth texture wise, but taste was ok only for me. I definitely prefer steak over short ribs Brussels sprouts — personally I’m not a fan of Brussel sprouts, but my friend raved about it so we decided to order and try this. It was surprisingly good. My boyfriend loved, would re-order this again. Ordered an additional dish of churros for dessert as well. It was pretty good, one of the better churros around. Not too oily and the batter was good If i came back, and the 5 for $ 88 promotion was still on, I would probably order 1 Brussel sprouts, 1 bone marrow and 2 steaks and 1 churros.

Great food for a very fair price. This is my third dinner here in the past two months. We enjoyed everything from appetizer to dessert. Make sure you get the Meat Butter and the Blistered(?) Spouts. I usually enjoy the scallop but it was a bit underwhelming today. However, the Quail Eggs made up for it — fluffy and rich. We were accidentally served the milk ice cream and honey as our dessert but it was better than the apple pie we ordered. Will definitely be going back for another girls night.

Came here on a Saturday, forgot I booked a table of two for 7pm and was late there, and arrived about 730pm. At 715pm, the restaurant called me to reconfirm if I was coming. I will admit I was slightly worried they would give away my table. I arrived there with a companion to an empty restaurant, feeling a little sheepish and second-guessing myself… And wondering if the Unilocal reviews about this place weren’t accurate, and because I hate picking bad places and eating bad food… Fear not. This place is great. It might close down soon because nobody from Unilocal is patronizing it. Please come here! I We ordered the tai ceviche and meat butter(grilled bone marrow) for starters. No regrets. Ceviche had a great dressing, but I feel like ceviche is the wrong name for it. Ceviche has a very specific flavor profile and dressing, and though it was great, heaped on a bed of fried vermicelli, it wasn’t ceviche. It was raw fish with onions and peanuts with a delicious, delicious, non-ceviche dressing. Next up, meat butter. Forget the fancy name, it is bone marrow pure and simple. The bones came dressed in seaweed flakes and bonito. What a smashing combination. I suspect that before grilling/baking, a liberal amount of soy sauce was drizzled over the bones, because I had a serious umami kick from scraping some brown, salty remnants of a sauce from the bones. They come with freshly baked bread, with a delicious crust. I wish they would have giant, GIANT meat butters for mains. I digress. I had the duck stack, which is duck confit with foie gras on top, on a bed of leek. Duck confit was yum, but the foie gras elevated it. I have a heavy palate, so I would have preferred more foie gras, but I guess you can’t have it all. I wish there was something crispy too — maybe pork crackling? Nevertheless, it was a party in my mouth. I am just a bit of a demanding b****. Dessert was disappointing. Candied bacon, buttermilk ice cream, and apple pie together? HMMM. Their candied bacon was a piece of very crispy bacon drenched in maple syrup. That is not candied. That is dipped. Buttermilk ice cream was well, vanilla, for my plebeian tastebuds. The apple pie was severely disappointing, with the apple filling consisting of tiny apple bits. I’m a chunky apple pie person, when I do have me some apple pie. The filling and pastry ratio was wrong. Skip dessert when you’re here. The two other offerings weren’t very appealing. Would I come back here? Yes, but I won’t be having dessert here.

Can I please call this place my favorite restaurant? Since my bf is not the boss of me and since I’m bossy, yes! And, this bossy sassy will tell you to come here. Now. I’ve been to DIBS after my experience at Burnt Ends, which is possibly my favorite, favorite restaurant in Singapore(I throw ‘favorite’ around quite a lot, huh?). DIBS can’t be compared to Burnt Ends, but for the price, quality and creativity behind the food, I would call them soul sisters. DIBS is a mix between European and Asian… a fusion! The menu is not extensive, as they specialize in a few things. I’ve tried a fair share and ones that I’ll keep coming back for are Meat Butter, Chicken Roll, Duck Stack, and Steak & Radish. The Meat Butter(SGD16) is exactly what it is, bone marrow. Sounds fine as bone marrow is quite a common delicacy in Singapore, but once DIBS sprinkled some bonito flakes and parsley, this dish is heaven! Delicious and a favorite here! Another stellar option is Chicken Roll(SGD26), DIBS’ version of deconstructed chicken rice. We were a bit hesitant to try it, but we’re so glad we did! The chicken was nice and juicy, plus the burnt rice was fab. It tasted like chicken rice, but it didn’t at the same time – quite hard to explain. It’s good, but perhaps not worth the first visit, maybe the second if you’re itching to try other mains. I definitely recommend the Duck Stack(SGD38) as a first visit. Foie gras and mushroom – honestly, this dish blew me away. The mushrooms provided an earthy overtone that goes so amazingly well with the duck fat and duck breast. Simply… I can’t even find an adjective to describe it. Order. It. Now. Another favorite is the Steak & Radish(SGD38). Classic, but a must. The fried daikon instead of potatoes makes this dish seem more healthy and Paleo-friendly. Loved it. Things that I would pass: Stewed Seafood(SGD65). Good, but not worth the price. Strawberry Shortcake(SGD13). I wasn’t also a fan. It was deconstructed, which is nice for sharing I supposed, but the sponge was a bit too dry for my liking. If you’re looking for a special night or just great food, I strongly recommend DIBS. And make dibs beforehand! They’re usually quite full on Fridays and the weekends – couldn’t resistant that pun, but you know, make reservations. Now. Says the bossy lady(me).
