When it comes to comfort food, nothing beats a steaming bowl of plain porridge.
A signature Goodwood Park restaurant, the Coffee Lounge has a porridge a la carte buffet ($ 38) with unlimited servings of over 20 items including appetisers and hot dishes.
Dishes are cooked to order, so they arrive piping hot at your table. All the staples like braised pork belly, mui choy (preserved mustard) with pork, salted egg and braised peanuts can be found on the menu.
And if you still have space after such a fine feast, you can always stuff yourself silly with the desserts!

I have come here a few times — over the past few years and I just love this place! Their buffets are well-​known and their selection is pretty comprehensive. Their High Tea Buffets are very famous — though I’ve only come for their Dinner Buffets. I would be giving this place 5 stars, it’s just that I don’t do buffets anymore — so, only for that reason, this place gets 4 stars. But if you’re a Buffet kinda person, then this is your place!
What I Love: The selection. They have Italian food — pasta and all, that a chef would whip up for you instantly, the salad bar, the seafood bar, the sushi bar, local Singaporean food, and my fave — is the desserts counter. I could just go there and have the desserts all night. Their chocolate liqueur shots are amazing. Apart from that, there’s bread pudding, ice cream, custard, and other pies and chocolate cakes.
What I Don’t Love: For dinner, it can get crowded. Watch out for the lines at the seafood bar. A dinner buffet would set you back $ 29.50.
