There are two areas to place your order. Apparently I queued at the wrong area. I stood behind a lady who placed her order at a small window facing the stairs. The lady stood there at the window to wait for her order. The staff did not ask for my order and another person just went right up to the window and placed her order effectively jumping the queue. I was only asked for my order after the 1st lady left with her food. I was told to sit down and only when I rounded the stall then I realized the actual stall front faced the side road and customers dining in could place their order there. Yup. I was the blur one joining the wrong line for the takeaway orders. I read about the french toast and how good it was. I had that and thought it was nothing special. The french toast with cold butter(yes!) and kaya was quite ordinary. The coffee was ok, though I should probably have ordered the kopi-c version(with evaporated milk). The coffee was siew dai by default so I did not like it all that much. I like my local coffee the traditional way, thick and sweet. The set at $ 4.40 for just coffee and french toast was not exactly cheap, considering the location. The pricing would be similar to the various coffee chains. The only reason to support it would be to keep local small F&B alive.

Berseh Food Centre is really a gem hidden from Unilocal for some time. The coffee here is 5 stars makan sutra. It’s kopi O is silky smooth, no sour coffee after taste. The guy inside made it that way. It’s not heavy in the sense of taste but sure as good in perkin you up as any kopi O. Kopi Siew Tai(coffee with milk less sugar) is just as marvelous but it’s probably not as distinct as other Kopi Siew Tai. Kopi is as good as it gets and I suspect the«kopi o» song is composed here.

Better than Ah Kun and Toast Box. Ask the boss to add more si(evaporated milk) to kopi si by topping up 30 cents. The taste is silky smooth.

This place is inside Jl Bersih Food Center. Came at 10 and tried to order the French toast, but the only thing left from the bread selection is the baguette — so I ordered it along with a cup of iced coffee. The baguette is layered with egg and came with kaya sauce for dipping — never had this before and it tasted almost like a French toast. Nothing special on the coffee for me, it’s just like any other kopitiam Kopi Peng.
