Churro 101 makes fresh churros based on order, in a variety of options to choose from. I ordered the Milk Custard Churro($ 4.50SGD) and found it to be a not-too-sweet and reasonably portioned dessert to top off a meal in the Bugis area. Once I placed an order at the cashier, I saw my churro being made, first being squeezed out of its metal device straight into the frying oil, then being filled with custard. As someone who enjoys watching how things are made, I was pleased to watch the process of creation through transparent glass. The churro itself however was nothing special. I may come by here again if I am ever in the area, but would not trek all the way to the third floor of Bugis+ just to pursue the churro.

I tried the milk custard churro and it was great($ 4.50SGD)! The custard was hot and fresh. I wish the churro was a little softer, it was more on the hard side… but still delicious. I will be back to try the other flavors. My friends tried the plain churro with ice cream($ 5.50SGD). I was expecting the ice cream to be small, but it was actually a good amount. There’s two locations in Singapore and I heard the other location at Orchard tastes better-fresh, hot and softer churros.

«Better than a Boyfriend?» I think not. My friend told me about this Churro craze that was happening in Korea and then mentioned that one had opened in Bugis Plus. While I was in the area shopping, I decided to try it out. There’s a small seating area directly next to the Churro order counter. Once you order you get a number and wait for it to be called out. If you need a menu you can just go up to the counter and ask for one. I ended up getting a Milk Custard filled churro for 4.50 sg. Man that was some pricey churro. For it’s size I’m not sure if I would ever get it again. It’s pretty small. maybe ~8 inches long. The only good thing was that it was actually. absolutely delicious. The churro was crispy and the custard’s sweetness meshed together very well. Photogenic? Not really. It’s just a long stick with some liquid oozing out on the top. I decided against taking a photo. The ones that are chocolate or other covered look a lot better but they were ~5 sg.

If you have heard the churro craze lately you might want to check this place out. Chanced upon it while doing some window shopping or exploration with two other Unilocalers. This café like store was under construction then. The next time I was there with my friend, the«kitchen» was empty and the lights were turned off. The same evening when I came back again, I spotted long lines and managed to get the last piece of chocolate filled churros. I wasn’t aware that it was their soft opening day until I asked them of why they were not selling 2 hours ago. As I wanted to share it with my friend, it took me about 1 hour before consuming it. Wasn’t in tip top condition when I ate it the first time. Two weeks later, decided to drop by and join in the queue. Wanted to try out the chocolate with strawberry bits churros but unfortunately they were out of it. Ordered custard cream instead. Even though it was a long queue at the cashier, it was pretty quick at the collection counter. I got my churro within 5 minutes after ordering. The taste. Crunchy on the outside and the filling was a good match. Was not too sweet. It was still piping hot and had to consume it slowly. During payment, you can see how they make churros in action. It is not an easy process as I thought as you could see how the«cooks» measure their ingredients and how they fry the churros to give that crispy taste. This small café can only fit a handful of people(probably less than 15). Will definitely drop by again if I am around the area :)
