I had stopped by here once before for a cold beer in the evening and we decided to stop by this afternoon for a quick lunch. The food and view make it a great, very informal place to stop for a relaxing break. We had both the«wet» and dry beef Kway Teow and they were rocking! The menu has a fantastic mix of local and western cuisine and our meal today made me anxious to go back and try a few more items. The location is really spectacular — because of its location above the gold course, you get a nice breeze and the view of Marina Bays Sands, Gardens by the Bay and the skyline are beautiful. It is very family friendly and the staff is very relaxed. The service was attentive and the food arrived quickly. All in all, a great place to enjoy an easy meal with family and friends!

Do NOT come here. It is like going in the twilight zone… they have some stupid policy about having to pay after your first order or give them your credit card. What, do they have some kind of problem with ‘dash and dine’? If you did want to dash, you’d have a long golf course to follow. Service was mediocre. Food was decent. Their nearsightedness about the credit card makes you think they don’t trust you! I will not be back again.

Every time I have friends from overseas visiting Singapore, I bring them to Canopy Café. You may wonder why. After all, the service is slow and inattentive(but they do try!) and the staff seem to be rather distracted, even if they are polite. The food is mediocre at best, and their selection of local and western snacks often have the flavour deep fried out of them. Prices are reasonable, but the quality is pretty low, so don’t expect anything amazing. To be really honest, we go there for the amazing view. Overlooking the golf course, one can also enjoy a great view of the magnificent Gardens by the Bay and the Singapore Flyer framed by Singapore’s city skyline. My favourite time to go is in the evening, just as the sun is setting and the lights come on. The city looks different at night, and Singapore has a lot to offer. This vantage point is truly one of the best kept secrets! After all, there’s no need to jostle with the crowds or tourists! The other reason we go there is for the fairly cheap beer! Take note that you will be expected to pay your bill upon being served, as they are afraid of people leaving without paying the bill. Getting there is quite a pain, and unless you take a cab or drive(or cycle if you live nearby), it may not be worth the effort. There’s always plenty of parking available when I go there, even when you have the golfers coming in to hit some balls at the riving range. The chairs and tables there are of your typical café variety made of metal, so it’s not very comfortable. Still, the high ceilings and pleasant breeze make it a great chill out spot for me if I feel like having a quiet beer with friends.
