This review is for Strip, Browhaus’s other half– hopefully the business name will be updated by the time you read this review. :) As of April 2013, this location moved from the 3rd floor of ION to the 1st floor, inside Sephora. My guess for this move is $$$- their new location, although inside Sephora, is a bit more hidden. You have to go all the way to the end of the store, past the registers, and you’ll see it in the corner. I’ve seen both locations, and this new one is okay. Not as spacious or nice as the old digs, but gets the job done. Service wise, my therapist was good. As promised, she waxed on and waxed off in 20 minutes. The room was clean, and the whole experience was pretty routine. My only gripe is the receptionist staff. They called me 2 minutes past my appointment time(which was 10AM, first one of the day), making sure I was still coming. Um, yes I am, it’s only 10:02, chill. Do me a favor and start panicking 10 minutes in. I arrived at 10:04, only to find the gates of Sephora not even opened yet. As I was having my service done, I asked the therapist, «Is there a side entrance available to come here, or is it just through Sephora?» to which she replied, «Only through the Sephora entrance.» So bottom line, don’t call me when I’m 2 minutes late, especially since the gates weren’t even open yet! Of course, expect the hard selling afterwards for the(gasp) $ 600 package which somehow saves you $ 10 – 12 each visit. It comes with the territory, stay strong girl, you can get out of it!

After the disastrous experience at Browhaus Paragon, it took me several months before I decided to try Browhaus again. It seemed like not many places specialize in eyebrow shaping/trimming. Most times those done by beauty therapists during your facials or at other beauty counters are not very nice. So back to Browhaus it is. I decided to try the outlet at ION as it is newer and supposedly quieter. You still need to make appointments in advance(at least a few days to a week or so) as they often have no slots when you call during the day itself. Not sure if it is due to lack of manpower or it is really full. The outlet is done in a nautical theme with only 1 «cabin» for privacy. The other lounger-chairs are set out in the open, just like a hair salon. I guess I do like the lounger-chair as you can lie there and get some shut eye time(if you don’t mind the slight stinging pain from the tweezing). I got lucky and found a therapist whom is not too bad and manage to follow my existing shape. So it was a relatively simple job of just trimming/tweezing the brows to neaten them. I tried another therapist at this outlet and she did not meet my expectations. So now I know I need to always request for the one whom I like. I am not a package holder and the counter staff will always ask if I want to get a package. But once I say no, they will not insist. I can live with that.
