I don’t think Aston’s is known by any stretch for fine Western food. Nevertheless, I consider it a reliable place for cheap and satisfying Western food in the Bukit Timah area. I personally enjoy the black pepper chicken chop and salmon dishes, which are usually quite well cooked with a simple tasty sauce. I also like the sides options. There is enough variety(potato salad, fries, pasta salad, rice, mashed potato, beans), though perhaps lacking in terms of the healthy options(just the garden vegetables, corn and house salad). With this outlet, the service is usually also quite speedy. There were only a couple of times where I found I had to wait some time for my food. The main problem with this outlet thought is seating during the peak hours. It usually gets pretty packed and something about the table arrangement makes the place feel extra congested and crowded. I find, however, that the back area facing the alley is much better and would recommend you head there if you’re going around dinner time.
