I love the salted caramel tea here. As the caramel is already sweet, I usually have the tea with either 0% or 25% sugar. The grilled cheese + whatever filling sandwich is equally delicious. It does take a while but it is worth the wait. A good place for a light snack and refreshing drink. It has a few tables for dining in and it can get crowded with students studying. This place is as good as the other outlet in Raffles Place, except it has more young people instead of office workers.

The first thing I saw outside the shop was a sign that read«World’s best Salted caramel milk tea». That got my eye as it was a very bold statement. I ordered a regular sized cup of it and tried it. Firstly, I thought that it was a tad too sweet for me. It had a slightly artificial taste to it but overall it was okay. For the«world’s best» title, Artease would have to work on it and step up their game. Salted Caramel Milk Tea — 6⁄10

Small café with very limited selection of savory food. Didn’t try the cakes, only had the Apple Rose tea and thankfully I asked for 0% sugar as the tea was already sweet on its own. The Salted caramel milk tea was ok, tasted more like a powdered instant tea… So wouldn’t order it again. Overall, the experience was very average.

Serangoon Central residents rejoice! For a quick fix of a good cup of coffee, there’s no need to dress to the nines and head to Tiong Bahru or Outram. Just put on a pair of decent-looking shorts and t-shirt, cross the road(depending where you live) and head to Artease. Spotted this place next to a typical HDB cake shop and 2 doors down from a walk-pass KFC counter when I wanted to get some cheap household knick knacks. What was once an ABC«closing down sale» kind shop became a cozy coffee corner shop with beige walls and homely black furniture. I was thoroughly surprised that Artease would choose to open a branch here, of all places! And somehow secretly pleased/touched that Serangoon was chosen! Though it was near closing time, we decided to have a go at their coffee, ordering a cup of Flat White to share. The staff seemed pretty new, probably new-joiners to the Artease crew. When our coffee arrived, we were a tad disappointed to see that the barista vaguely attempted to do latte art but it got messed up. He’s forgiven, as it’s late and he is new. Otherwise, 5 brownie points for Artease just for opening up a branch at Serangoon, 3 for trying at latte art and 2 points for being the first to put Serangoon on the coffee map. Will be back to try their desserts!
