Akbar 24 Hours Restaurant

This place looked like messy from the outside (esp. if you visited during dinner time), but it was a decent place. I ordered the mutton briyani and they gave a generous portion-​a lil bit too much for me– for S$ 5. The waiter was very nice.

Had the chicken murtabak. A bit on the greasy side, but not bad.

Mee goreng! Seriously, the best I’ve had in Singapore!
Akhbar is a typical Malay-​Indian food stall found around Singapore. In fact, I believe there are multiple Akhbars found throughout Singapore. The only difference between this one and all those wannabes is that food here is actually really, REALLY good! I typically order the mee goreng, but be warned, it’s spicy! The roti prata is another favorite and comes with chicken curry for dipping.
Akhbar is opened 24 hours so stop here instead of McDonald’s for your late night grub. I’ll be honest with you: in terms of calories, I’ll say this place (like all other Malay-​Indian food) is probably on par with MickeyD’s…but hey! Who’s actually counting calories anyway? ;)
