Disgusting. How does this place stay in business? Honestly, this is the worst«high end» restaurant I’ve been to in my life. This restaurant is located in a sad, lonely hotel on Duxton Road. The worst part about this place is the assistant manager. She didn’t know what to recommend nor did she seem interested providing her opinion to make our dining experience worthwhile – def. two things I expect from a high end restaurant. I asked her if the tuna salad was large enough as an entrée, as most salads found in the appetizer section are quite plentiful. Take a look at this: . It is NOT a salad!!! Three pieces of lettuce… really??? In the end, I had to order another entrée. I tried the Tuna Steak, which for the price, is definitely not worth it. It wasn’t really fresh, and I nor do I care if the fish is organic or locally farmed or whatnot – just make my food taste good! I also tried the ribs here, which was okay. Surprisingly(or maybe not?), the side of seasoned fries was the best part of our meal.

In my opinion, fine dining and organic food can never go hand-in-hand. It’s just not right. I was rather disappointed to find out that we were going to be dining at a farm-to-table fine dining establishment. Not that I didn’t want to give 81 Duxton a chance, but right from the moment we got there, the tiny alarm bells in my head were ringing out non-stop. Firstly, the hotel which 81 Duxton resides in is downright depressing. Add that to the knowledge of organic produce, made me all the more gloomier. While the food was pretty decent and pricey($ 30 for a three course set lunch), the overall experience I had won’t make me come back for a return visit anytime soon.
