Blue Fox was a hot spot for catching a weekend breakfast. Got there early and had to wait for a bit, but that’s what happens when they have great food. Highly recommend the Orange Del Sol french toast. Husband had chicken Benedict at thee commendation of the waitress and he loved it

Officially my new favorite breakfast/brunch place in Victoria. Stopped in her on Memorial Day, and our server was super helpful in picking our dishes, and very attentive for how busy this place was. I had the Orange Del Sol dish, french toast smothered in goodness and oranges, and a few mimosa’s. I wish this place did take reservations, but I noticed many of the popular places in Victoria don’t. It would be 5 stars if there were reservations on top of being able to just show up.

Decent food. Loved the jam with toast. Really it’s overpriced for food you get. Eggs aren’t seasoned at all.

Fantastic!!! We went here this morning with our 2 year old and 10 week old kids. The food and coffee were both excellent. We both got variations of eggs Benedict. They were both served on a bagel, which made it a bit hardier. Mine had salmon on it, and it had excellent flavor. We got my daughter a fruit plate, which had a nice variety of fresh fruit, and was a larger portion than I would expect. The staff was very attentive and friendly despite it being very busy. My only complaint was that there was a bit of a wait, which is always challenging with kids. I didn’t realize it would be so busy on a Wednesday morning, and will make sure to make a reservation next time. Otherwise I look forward to coming here again when we are next in Victoria!

We are summer residents up from the States. The Blue Fox is one our«go to» places for amazing breakfasts. We love their selection of Bennies as well as their specialty brandy maple coffee! We take all of our friends here just so they can experience some of the best breakfasts in Victoria!

Visited the Blue Fox Café with my parents and husband for the first time last Saturday. There was a 15 or so minute wait(which we didn’t mind, as we’d heard raving reviews), which was worth it. The Salish Salmon omelette I got was so filling that I had to take some home. I fried it up later on and it was still delicious. My husband and I also shared the Special coffee they had that morning and had it iced. It was really tasty — the whipped cream alone was phenomenal! The pan fries were perfectly seasoned and I took some of those home too for later. In all, I would highly recommend visiting the café. Be aware that it gets very busy on the weekends, but know that the wait will end with your belly full of delicious food!

Let me just say this: Victoria appears to be SPOILED with amazing breakfast/brunch spots. My partner and I came here on our first morning, after catching super late-night flight into the Victoria area. The restaurant is on a main drag in town, and not too difficult to find, and there’s plenty of street parking around to be had. We had a short wait(it’s a popular place), but it was totally worth it. We started off with cocktails: I had a caesar, and she had a funky mimosa on special. Both were great – a solid 4⁄5. As for the food itself: I got a speciality eggs benny(«eggs in hell»), and she got the Huevos Rancheros. Portions for both were extremely generous. My meal was one of the best eggs benny I’ve ever had – the chorizo on it is SOGOOD – and she is a Huevos Rancheros connoisseur, and said she would give it a 7⁄10(which in her books, meant she was a very happy camper). The restaurant itself is a very charming environment, and our waitress was awesome. Totally looking forward to going again.

I still have dreams of my delicious steamed almond milk mocha! So good! The server was a dear and added honey per my request. Yuuuuummy! The food was very good and the portions are enormous. He loved his eggs benedict which came with hearty bacon. The huevos rancheros were so very filling. The pork was succulent and the beans had a real kick. Oh my gosh the panfries shamelessly added calories of deliciousness to my waistline. This place fills quickly. Get here early.

My husband and I came here for breakfast on Mother’s Day. We waited about 15 – 20 minutes for a table and had the best breakfast EVER! So much so that we came back the next day. Best French toast I’ve ever had, their coffee is delicious, and the service is excellent. We had Sasha for our server today and Molly as our server yesterday, and each of them provided excellent service. Again, amazing and totally worth the wait!

My son told me about Red Fish Blue Fish a while a go so I decided to check it out. To my amazement the food was better and healthier then I expected. We tried the wraps & tuna tacos both were delicious and supper fresh. I would definitely recommend it to friends and can’t wait for a second visit.

I had time to kill this AM so I proceeded to the Blue Fox Café for breakfast on my own. I was glad to see by 9.30am the café was pretty busy & no line ups. Soon after I sat down more people started coming in& before I know it the restaurant was full & a casual line forms. My server was James. He was very helpful in suggesting the Moroccan chicken Benny. Portion is huge. This breakfast is good for sharing for sure. I also ordered decaf Americano, it was perfect. I enjoyed my breakfast. Took the rest home & I was very glad I came here to check it out for myself.

This review is more of a 3.5 stars than 3 stars. Of course, I don’t have the 0.5 star option. The portions were huge. The meals were tasty, but I prefer more protein than carbs on plate. I had the Eggs in Hell and it was quite overwhelming with carbs and sauces. My partner had the Spanish Omelet. For him, he states that the omelet was overwhelming with the sauces and cream. After a few bites, the omelette was too salty. The service was great and the place was quite clean. I feel that the meals were too hyped up – maybe I have higher expectations for my meals? Who really knows? Overall, it was a good experience — one that I can say I have waited in line for 30 minutes to try. The meals weren’t good enough for me to try again if and when i return to Victoria.

The place we’d planned to go was closed, so we decided to give this place a try. So glad we did! Fresh, local, organic food in a funky and fun little café. We loved our lunch from the start with the best hot chocolate this side of Paris. No cocoa powder here! Fabulous, quenching, organic lemonade from fresh squeezed lemons Amazing Royale burger with Canadian(back) bacon, cheddar, sauce and the freshest trimmings Miss Saigon salad — so fresh and delicious even in the dead of winter — Chicken breast with black sesame seeds on a bed of spinach with fresh orange segments(they’d taken the time to cut off the membrane), half an avocado sliced, roasted almonds and on the side, the most wonderful shallot vinaigrette ever. Order it, you’ll love it! The desserts looked great but we were plenty full, maybe next time!

Our first visit to Victoria and had to check out the Blue Fox Café based off of the reviews. Exceeded our expectations! We got lucky that the line was not very long when we arrived. This is a must stop if you have time.

After 2 years we’ve returned to Victoria. Some of our favorite eating places have closed or changed focus(looking at you Hanks) and by day two we were feeling a bit meh about Victoria. Lots of businesses empty etc. Then we returned to Blue Fox Café. I had the Moroccan Benedict and it was absolutely perfect. Last time the chicken was a bit tough and the bagel was hard to cut but not this time. The chicken was perfect and the bagel soft. The hollandaise sauce was exactly the right consistency and the flavors amazing. My significant other had The eggs el jimador benedicts and liked it as well although she liked mine better. We returned the next morning and my soft poached egg was somewhat firmer, the chicken was cooked firmer and the bagel was firmer. Sigh The waitress asked if everything was alright and I told her and she said she’d relay it to the cook. The second day my partner got the Eggs Blackstone Bennie and thought it was good but the tomato didn’t seem very grilled. Still, the worst benedict I’ve gotten from Blue Fox is better than anything I can get in Seattle and is still better than Jam Café. My two favorite things to eat here — Moroccan bennie and Oranges del Sol French Toast. You can’t go wrong with either. The biggest negative? The wait, this place is popular. Get there early on the weekends.

Oh my lord! Okay, let’s start off by listing off some basic points about this place. 1. They’re always busy. Always. 2. It’s a small place, limited seating. 3. They have the most delicious bennies I’ve ever had. So, there are quite a few downsides to this place that are huge no’s for some people. I know there’s people who don’t like lines, and this place is a huge no then. If you haven’t already noticed with the photos that people have posted, there is always a wait for this place. The couple times I have been here, I’ve waited anywhere between 20 minutes and 45 minutes. Try to avoid have 4 or 5 people in your party, because seating is limited and waiting for a larger table means a larger wait. But if you hit lucky number 6, reserve before you go! Their reservations are very strict(12 – 1 on weekdays only, for groups of 6+), but such a relief to skip the like(especially on a cold day). And it also assures your group seating all together. I’ve noticed that groups of four usually get split into two pairs if needed. The seating area, as I’ve mentioned before, is very limited. Don’t come if you don’t want to sit one foot away from another table. There’s little space and they try to make use of it as much as they can, and because of this, seating is very intimate. It’s also hell when you’re starving and waiting for your food, and the table literally a foot away from you is chowing down on some delicious looking omelette. Now, to the most important part. The food. I’m not much of a breakfast/brunch person so I wasn’t too excited about this place, but the reviews were raving. I was so curious. I had asked some friends, especially since I haven’t been in Victoria long enough to know the food(or brunch scene) around here, and they had all either heard of the place or loved it already. I still wasn’t too convinced so I went to an online thread for people of Victoria and asked about it, and everyone went crazy! They told me what to get and what not to get(which was nothing apparently, «try everything» they said), and what other great brunch places there were here in the city. I was finally convinced. My boyfriend and I made our trek over to Blue Fox Café. On our first trip, I got what was most recommended: the Moroccan Chicken Benny. I am also a huge fan of bennies so I was super excited to try this. My boyfriend, on the other hand, got Huevos Rancheros. He’s a big Mexican food fan, and I love bennies, so we had some high expectations, and, man, did they hit it out of the park. The benny was delicious. Egg made perfectly, not too runny, not too solid. The chicken was spiced so well, and the whole thing was topped with button mushrooms which added a sweet kick. I loved it, and I can’t wait to have it again! The Huevos Rancheros was«yummy, tasted great. Perfect amount of Mexican and breakfast,» according to my boyfriend. He also had it with pulled pork, which topped what I thought couldn’t be topped. And served with both of our dishes were these delicious potatoes. They were perfectly salted. I would be satisfied in the morning with just a bowl of those potatoes. With both of those, we got their iced chai tea latte cocktail, which was very refreshing, and the special coffee of the day which was, I think, a mocha coffee with a splash of Irish cream and rum. Our second trip we ordered the Benny Delmenico(smoked salmon and red onions) and Migas & Amigos(chorizo omelette with two pieces of toast) and those amazing potatoes with both of those, and their Belgian hot chocolate and a macadamia caramel latte. It was again, tasty as hell, but not as good as our first trip. We’ll definitely go there again to try more.

We went to this breakfast spot when we were staying in Victoria. There was a good 30 minute line up when we arrived around 11 in the morning. They don’t reserve tables which is fine so I would make sure to arrive early and be ready to wait in a line. We ordered huevo rancheros, eggs Benny and their pancakes with eggs and sausage. Their sausage is awesome. I think that was the most liked item off the menu. As for the rest of the meal, it was okay. I admit, the portions were big but I didn’t think it was spectacular. I would go back again but I am not sure if it is worth lining up for. Maybe I am missing something because clearly it is very popular spot.

Perhaps one of the most famous and busiest breakfast places in downtown Victoria is the Blue Fox Café. You have to get here early if you don’t feel like waiting in line because even on a weekday, about fifteen minutes after opening there was a waiting list. You’d think they would expand the café because of how popular it is and how much limited seating this place sits. Blue Fox is off the eastern part of Fort Street in downtown, a very simple walk from the city centre. For me, it was easy to miss the sign when walking to it, maybe because I was still a bit asleep. The inside of the café( ) is quite cozy with very limited seating which means bigger groups are most likely impossible to find a way to eat here all together. The menu here has a good variety of breakfast options as well as some lunch items. They serve breakfast here all day from open to close, so if you’re looking for a late brunch, this is the place. They have a good selection of drinks for the morning, including some cocktails. The coffee here is delicious as they serve organic fair trade dark roast with unlimited refills. My friend ordered an apple cider( ) which was hot cider with a mix of lime and cinnamon which is a great way to warm up for breakfast. Even though they had some interesting creations, I went for plain olé French toast. The French toast here( ) is two large slices of texas sized bread dipped into egg batter and lightly fried on each side with a dapple of cinnamon and powdered sugar. The toast its self had a great light crispy texture on the outside and was moist on the inside. The flavor of the toast was perfect and subtlety sweet. I just wish they had given us fresh butter with it instead of packaged stuff. The syrup on the side of course was pure maple, what you would expect in every Canadian restaurant. I also ordered a side of eggs and grilled chicken( ) for a bit protein for my breakfast. The grilled chicken was seasoned perfectly, very flavorful chicken. The scrambled eggs were okay, but I definitely enjoyed the side of chicken way more. My friend really enjoyed the Jack in the Green( ) omelet with some customizations. At Blue Fox they were very accommodating to people with allergies and made sure your food was going to be made the way you wanted. As you can see, for the side of fruit they really go all out, giving you a very generous amount of the quality stuff. At Blue Fox Café, it’s all about quality tasting food and a great small atmosphere to enjoy it in. The staff here was very friendly and did a great job at making the meal great. They were right on top of getting our food out quickly and giving us plenty of refills on our coffees and water. The prices didn’t seem to steep when comparing it to other places we ate at on the trip. I’m sure the only issue that most people here will run into, is how busy this place is. Like I said before, if you don’t get here early, you might be in for quite a long wait for a table. The place is that good.

If you’re looking for a good breakfast or lunch spot in Victoria, look no further. Despite This place being very popular, they are still careful with their food preparation. It’s a bit off the beaten tourist path, but not too far — it’s about a 20 minute walk from the Fairmont Empress. They take reservations, but only Monday — Friday. We ate breakfast there on a Sunday morning in early July… arrived at 8:55AM, and were seated at 9:30AM. I had the Roquette Chicken Sandwich with the salad, and it was excellent. Fresh avocado, fresh chicken, ham, arugula, on buttery, crisp sourdough. My traveling companion had the Eggs Del Monico, and was quite pleased. Though the pan-fried potatoes were great, he wished he had substituted for fruit, because the presentation of fruit on the plates that passed by was colorful and jaunty.

One of the best memories from my trip to the west coast.
