We have always had great experiences here. Today definitely topped it though. The manager and staff were super friendly and accommodating. Our server Jess was awesome! Really friendly food is always great! Thanks guys!

Long wait to get in, but the coffee while you wait helps pass the time. Food is well worth it, gluten free and vegan options. HUGE portions and decent prices. Very noisy, but staff is great and seem to thrive in the chaos. We left full and happy and ready for our Victoria adventure! Wish we had a place like this in the valley. Funky and fresh with so much flavour! We will definitely be back on our next trip over

No nonsense food here — good value for what you get. Fast, friendly service by waitress AC. She’s a sweetheart. I ordered the Chipotle Club(i had it as a wrap instead of a sandwich which is a nice option) and it was tasty. The green bean soup wasn’t that great, kinda mushy and not much taste but otherwise a pleasant experience. Will be back. I will try the Mahoney’s next time.

Had a pan scramble, figured that would be safe. It was so loaded with left-over, greyish pork breakfast sausage it was quite inedible. I’ve always thought sausage was supposed to be browned so it looks appetizing but not here. The bennies are ok but I’m not sure it’s enough to make me go back

After all the rave reviews, I was surprised not to be particularly impressed with breakfast. Ordered a half of the«BC Hash» — eggs were a little overcooked, cheese was non-existent, and I’m not a fan of their sausage. Most Canadian sausage features finely ground pork and a light smooth flavour. This has a coarser grind and a very distinct spice note that’s jarring. I do, however, give them serious props for their potatoes — deep fried crispy on the outside, soft in the middle, and wonderfully seasoned. Pleasant service, good location, just not the winner I was hoping for.

Its a stone cold fact that there is an over abundance of mediocre restaurants in Victoria with little to no care on what they serve you. And they don’t have a problem having you part with a lot of your hard earned dollars. Seems hardly fair when the same 2 or 3 food service trucks that supply the fast food joints also make their way to some of the restaurants here yet … the price spread is big. Sadly, Floyd’s is in that group. I try once a year to see if they can get their food act together. I keep hoping that someone has apprenticed at places that know how to cook quality food, but I guess the money is too good for them to bother. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had raw pan fried potatoes, or nasty eggs, over salty sauces and bacon(hallmark of poor quality bacon) but they’ve built a reputation on catchy Clint Eastwood likeness and ‘hip’(?) atmosphere. I asked about the chicken and waffles. Was it honesty crispy? Was it a piece of chicken? All the types of questions that would leave an opening for the server to tell me what I’m in for. The claim was that it was an homage to the Famous Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles. I received 7TINY cut up pieces of what was once frozen ‘chix’ nuggets which yes, DID taste like Mickey D’s. The salt on this meal made me gag. No syrup was served and the eggs were factory farmed. There was nothing about the meal that resembled chicken and waffles. Nothing. I was completely offended at being B.S.d at this level over a meal. Kinda a new one on me. Homage to Roscoe’s? Uh … you actually have to fry up CHICKEN you know — a real bird, not Walmart/Food Service frozen Chix strips to even call it fried chicken and waffles. Yes, you have to actually use part of a real chicken. I can’t wait for Roscoes down in L.A. to see the photos. I really can’t. They may make the flight up to slap the cook with a real piece of fried chicken. I took three bites and packed up and left. With a server so indifferent that he didn’t respond when I said I was STUNNED at what he served, I realize he is part of the whole problem. The cooks can’t cook and the servers don’t care. Too bad because if this place could put quality before profit, I would support them weekly. More than that, they would be great. As I write this with ears burning from MSG, I realize I feel used by this restaurant. I realize I give up on Floyd’s Diner for good. I just can’t recommend a food place that cares so little about what it serves at inflated prices.

We absolutely love Floyd’s! Every time we’re in Victoria we can pass up breakfast at Floyd’s. I would recommend the bc hash it’s amazing and always delicious.

It was very busy(Saturday morning) but there was a place to sit and wait. Once we were seated we were served quickly and they had gluten free options for my daughter. Coffee was good and my French Toast was excellent. My daughter had gluten free Eggs Benedict and said it was the best breakfast she ever had.

I really liked this place. First off the hostess gave us coffee while we waited for a table. It was so nice I don’t know why they don’t do that everywhere, it made the wait not even seem like we were waiting at all more like just having a coffee. Everyone was really nice and the service was excellent as far as making sure we had everything and that everything was good and they all had a really good attitude. The waitresses were pretty cute in their tight blue jeans too. I ordered the pulled pork omelet being a big fan of pulled pork. Portion was great and the food was really good. I never even thought or seen/heard about pulled pork in an omelet before so extra points in the creativity factor. A lot of their dishes seemed pretty unique with the naming and combination of flavors. Anyway overall it was a good experience, I would recommend Floyd to people visiting Victoria like we were.

I ordered the Mahoney which is supposed to be this cool surprise dish prepared by the kitchen. I ordered the lunch version while the other two in my party ordered a half and full order of the BC hash. Their little one had a kid’s chicken tender meal. When the meals came I was surprised that my Mahoney looked no different than their BC Hash other than it was served on a fried taco. I thought maybe it would taste different but it didn’t. I spoke with the server and asked if this was the lunch version. He looked and commented that it looked like egg to him. «Must have been a mistake.» Needless to say the experience for me was disappointing. He tried to make up for it by providing a free side of poutine which was good if not a little salty. Sadly my fellow dinners were also not impressed with their meals. Tip: Order the half order as it was essentially the same size as the full. When we left they didn’t even bother taking their leftovers home with them. . This place seems to be a lot of hype. Based on this experience, if in Victoria, go elsewhere.

Another Victoria gem. While visiting from out of town, we went based on its high Unilocal rating and were not disappointed. Friendly staff, quick service and delicious food. I had the veggie scramble(half order — already a ton of food!) and it was incredibly flavorful. Would definitely come back.

First the place looks nice, a bit oldie like diner from the 70s or 80s but that is made on purpose, form the waiters to the music and the vinyls suspended on the ceiling everything transpires the old days and rock and roll. The menu is very funny and original for the names. I had the Rob Ford burger because the description was hilarious also it looked appetizing. I also had a chocolate milkshake man it was great: D I wasn’t disappointed the portions were huge, and the burger was quiet alright for a diner. The staff was very sweet and they sounded really happy to serve us.

Perfect if you’re craving a big fattening breakfast. The menu is pretty sizeable and they have a handful of benes to choose from. I tried the American Idol bene with bacon and avocado and pesto hollandaise. It came with potatoes on the side which were really greasy(but admittedly I still ate them).

Came here with some colleagues. I wasn’t that hungry so I ordered the poutine with pulled pork. The pulled pork was really tasty. But… too much gravy made everything soggy too fast. Cheese curds were nice. Fries were basic — didn’t have much seasoning to it. Service was ok. Dont know why the water wasn’t cold so we had to ask for ice. Would try this place again but maybe another dish.

I’m not even sure what happened here. I may have gone into a food coma, triggered by some insane meal fit for an entire sports team to share(on their collective way to the emergency room). Was in Victoria on business and the local guys took me there for breakfast one morning. Before I even got a chance to look at the menu they ordered for me: «3 Mahoneys, and this guy here is visiting so ask the chef to do something special on his». Um, OK. Gulp. What arrived at my table in about 10 minutes was a plate of uncompromising, first-world, obscenity. What I thought were two slices of toast, buried under a pile in hollandaise, turned out to not be just that simple. In fact I basically had TWO ham sandwiches(with ham, pork, cheese, and onions inside) which were topped with more cheese, mushrooms, caramelized onions, more meat, a literal SHEET of bacon, and 3 poached eggs all drenched under a pesto hollandaise sauce. As if that was not enough there were also probably two entire potatoes worth of home fries flanking it. Right there my entire mission in life(or the next 30 minutes at least) was to make it appear as I at least ate something on that plate. The more I attempted to dig into it the more it came crashing down, just like a sandcastle, creating the appearance that I was making no real progress.(Stomach begged to differ, meanwhile). The bacon blanket was simply too much, but otherwise it was really good. That pesto hollandaise was incredible and everything was cooked well, especially considering the amount of seemingly contrasting ingredients. That meal could have fed all 3 of us, yet the other 2 in my party has their own unique monstrosities to fend with.(One had breakfast burritos INSIDE of sandwiches). When in Rome, as they say. While I would have loved to see something on the menu like a Mini-Mahoney Jr Light for a reasonable price I probably wouldn’t have remembered it in such detail. And speaking of price that thing cost $ 32, mainly because I have the worst luck with gambling. Apparently a local guy is 6 out of 7 on free Mahoney’s.

Floyd’s is one of those places where it’s either really great or kind of crap, super hit or miss every time I go, but the good experiences always have me coming back. Going on a weekday is a lot better than going on a weekend or holiday because the staff are less frazzled and don’t make as many mistakes. Either way the staff are always lovely and friendly. I love the Vegetarian Hash and the Mahoney has never disappointed, but like I said, they do have their off days. Be prepared, if you go on a weekend/holiday with more than 2 people, you will definitely have to wait more than half an hour, but in Victoria that’s pretty typical of all brunch places.

Space: I took my parents here for breakfast while they were in Victoria helping me move. My dad loved the old diner style and my mom enjoyed looking at all the photos of old stars and reading the various wall posts. I liked the records hanging from the ceiling and the bright colours. Some people have commented saying that the tables are too close together, but I found that the place was quite spacious, although we did have a booth seat. Service: We were seated and given coffee right away and our server was so unbelievably attentive and had a spunky/positive attitude. She made sure our coffee was kept hot with constant refills and checked in twice to make sure we were, not just content, but happy. All the staff there were like little bees buzzing around and taking care of customers. Hard workers, but with a pleasant demeanor. The food: The food came fast and it was large portions! I ordered the«Listen to me when I’m talking to you son» which is basically a classic breakfast of 2 eggs, 3 pieces of bacon, hash browns and toast(I ordered the gluten free bun). It was well done. My only criticism is the hash browns were slightly over-salted/seasoned. My parents had french toast and said it was good, but not mind blowing. The great service and atmosphere is definitely what boosted my rated from a 3 star to a 4 star. I’ll be back!

Greatest breakfast place in Victoria. Get there early. You will wait at any given time. BC hash is my choice. Benny’s are creative and amazing. Staff is awesome. Great coffee. Lots of locals. A nice walk from the main drag. But worth it.
