The Copper Pot is my second choice for when I don’t feel like standing in line at India Abroad, or if I need a pasta fix. I’ve tried two of their regular dishes. The Mac n Cheese is available on Thursdays and Fridays. It’s quite good and there is no shortage of cheese in this sauce. It’s gooey and creamy and delicious. Although they don’t seem to carry any ketchup packets, which I find puzzling. It’s a good thing I have a supply in my desk… hot sauce would work too, but I’m assuming if they don’t carry ketchup they probably don’t carry hot sauce either. I’m eating the Monday Veggie Lasagna right now. I really appreciate that there aren’t any mushrooms in it! It’s loaded with mostly cubes of zucchini, some soft chunks of bell pepper, flavourful tomato sauce and plenty of cheese! You have a choice of either caesar or mixed greens for salad. The caesar salad has lots of dressing. It’s almost too much, but it’s alright. And plenty of croutons! They also sprinkle fresh parmesan in it before they load it onto the plate. The garlic bread is actually really good. Normally I find it kind of «meh» and pointless unless dipped in sauce, but the bread they use is awesome and it is sufficiently garlic-y and not all dried out and old tasting at all.

The Copper Pot is another corporate lunch spot in the world cuisine fast food hub of the International Food Court on Hornby. It serves homestyle food often heavy on the cheese and comfort factor. The veggie lasagna is good: layered with plenty of vegetables and slathered with cheese. Other house specialties include massive calzones and fresh salads. Service can be a little slow — especially if its noon — but if it is Friday and you’ve eaten butter chicken from India Abroad every day so far this week, mix it up here and grab a salad.
