Finished shopping on 4th and saw I parked right in front of this place. It was the start of dinner so I thought why not? The atmosphere is very romantic and quite different from most sushi places in Vancouver. This was my first visit to a Sushi Bella chain. Tried 3 Bella rolls: drunken tiger roll(recommended by the server and it was delicious!), Bella roll(the beet added a unique sweetness) and the rainbow roll(basic). Many of the other tables ordered the iron grill teppanyaki. This looked delicious and is what I would order next time with the drunken tiger roll. Food and ambiance wise, this is a solid 3.5−4 star sushi place. However on my visit my three rolls took over 30 minutes to arrive. The server did not notify us of the wait and we saw many other tables who ordered after us receive their meals. As this was my first visit, I am not sure if the rolls generally take a lot longer than the teppanyaki. Overall I wouldn’t recommend coming here to have rolls if you are very hungry as it can take a long time. The teppanyaki seems to cook a lot faster so order that if you are starving!

Great service and even better sushi. This is one of the better or one of the best sushi place in Kitsilano. It’s run by Korean people but unlike any other Korean-run sushi place, they actually have good sushi. Fresh fish and perfect consistency for the rice.

Always order takeout here, sushi is consistently good. Wait time is usually 15 – 30 minutes.

Came here with a friend last night after shopping along 4th ave. We thought we should give this a try as we both love the Sushi Bella at North Van. The restaurant is not bad. It was a little bit stuffy when we first arrived. Inside was quite roomy and it seems to be slightly larger than the North Van location. Food tasted very similar to what I remember from the other location. We ordered my favourites: Crunchy Go Go, Crazy California, Bella Tower, and 2x chopped scallop nigiri. It may not sound like a lot but it was definitely more than us 2 girls can eat. The flavours were consistent to what I had recall. However, there were several fruit flies that kept swarming around our food. I’m not sure if its just our table or it’s everywhere within the restaurant though. Overall I will come back if I’m craving sushi in that area.

Sushi Bella is fantastic! I came here looking for a deep fried California roll, yes I know, and what I found went so far beyond that. We ended up getting the crispy chicken, a salad, the crispy chicken, and some more sushi. It was all incredibly delicious. I’m not sure how they made that salad so good. I will probably come back just for the crispy chicken. The deep fried California roll was good — relatively similar to others found in Vancouver but maybe a bit more expensive. I highly recommend sushi Bella though. Great place for a date as well.

I’m not always a fan of Japanese food that is too«fusion-ey». Bella is by no means an authentic Japanese restaurant, but I do like their spin on Japanese dishes. What I really like about this location is how it has a nice casual atmosphere and the food is tasty. If i’m ever in downtown and an craving sushi for lunch this is usually where I’ll go. They have good lunch specials, but in my opinion to get the best experience, come with friends so you can all order a whole bunch of things to try. I love their appetizers, I could honestly go here and just eat appetizers. Their rolls are also really delicious and filling. And if you are a die-hard sashimi fanatic, this is also the place for you — their fish is super fresh! Vegetarians don’t fear, there are many non-meat options as well(I really love their veggie rolls). Must tries: 1.) Bella Tower(sashimi tower of deliciousness — the balsamic sauce goes surprisingly well), 2.) Sushi pizza(well, this is basically like two of my favorite foods combined how could it NOT be good?) 3.) Salmon Sashimi Salad(basically how a sashimi salad should always be, the dressing and fish is just in the right ratio and oh so good!) 4.) Crab Cakes — I’m usually not a fan of crab cakes cut there are quite the exception! Must try! 5.) Crunchy GoGo Roll. This is definately one of those guilty pleasures in life… so much deep fried things but I feel no regrets. Service here is really nice and the servers make great recommendations! This place is perfect for any occasion and their prices are justified for their quality, presentation and atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Last time we’ve been here we were served by a waitress called Celina. She had been our waitress before and both times we had a very bad experience with her. She’s very aggressive and rude. This girl can easily turn a good food and a good restaurant into a very bad experience for the customer. Unfortunately her bad service outweighed the good food and this place is not our favourite anymore.

This place will give you a tasty sushi meal at a decent price. If you’re a roll person, this is your place with some innovative stuff. Menu is a bit busy and so are there sauce use, but flavourful overall, but hey, the choice lends itself to most persons palettes.

Man, I’m just not a fan. I was hoping to find a neighborhood Japanese restaurant I’d actually want to frequent often without having to go to the Cambie or Kerrisdale areas. The service is great. I’d give that 4 – 5 stars. The food was really what dropped this down to 2 stars. — Aburi selection was terrible. The actual ingredients were delicious but it was just too much going on and overly sauced on every front. Aburi is delicious and I love it anywhere I’ve found it… except here. They totally killed the simplicity and delicate taste of it by just drowning it in sauces and additional flavors. LETTHEFISHSHINE!!! — The rolls were all really mediocre at best. It’s evident through the extreme sogginess of the seaweed that the rolls were left too long before serving the customers. They were soggy/wet/chewy which is never what the focus of a roll should be. I was trying to swallow it but the texture of the seaweed mixed with how undercooked the sushi rice was just wasn’t acceptable. Also, I can go to my regular sushi place at this price point and be satisfied with the service and quality. I left here disappointed.

Been twice and both times the sushi has been delicious. I live right around the corner and definitely plan on coming back to this place. It’s not the usual flavors — they have made their own rolls with carefully chosen flavored paired together. I would highly recommend he lobster roll(1($ but well worth it). The groups I went with were also very satisfied with their food. 4.5 stars

I’ve been to Sushi Bella a few times and I like how it delivers quality sushi with really great presentation. They have a few locations throughout the city, and I really like this one because it’s cozy and well appointed. I’ve sampled their sashimi(always fresh) and regular rolls and they’re all really good. Some of the specialty rolls are… unique. I’m not sure who is going to eat the Monkey roll(Whole banana, crab mix, ucumber, chocolate sauce) but I guess I’m just more of a classic sushi girl. Crunchy Go-Go, Grouse Mt Roll were tasty. Portions aren’t huge, but that’s because you’re not going to some of the cheaper places around town. This is a nice upgrade when you want to treat yourself.

Sushi Bella has a couple of locations in Vancouver, with their newest franchise opening near Metrotown soon! Sushi Bella is owned by Koreans, so authenticity is not the main attraction here haha. The prices are actually quite reasonable, given that the presentation is nicer than sushi restaurants in the same price range! The lunch specials are pretty decent and large portioned! Everything we had was rather tasty, except for the kaarage haha. The kaarage was soggy, which was a huge disappointment! They have a ton of speciality rolls, with fun names like«Gangster Roll» and«Cowboy Roll» haha!

We asked if they could substitute rice for noodles– no I had my 2 year old son with me and asked for a side of rice and perhaps some vegetables(carrots and broccoli) — no I can get rice and order an appy??? Ummmm ok My friends dish had both carrots and broccoli in it. So it’s not like they couldn’t have done that for me. They have high chairs there so it’s not like they don’t expect kids to come in. My son has plain rice and I had to feed him when we got home. The gyozas were awful, it was liked they were wrapped in cardboard. Sushi was amazing but I had a deep fried Cali roll so what’s not to like?! Prawn tempura was pretty good. No A/C– rotten fish smell wafting in from the back door.

My daughter went with her dad for her birthday dinner, and she forgot her birthday card, complete with cash inside! I called the restaurant, and they remembered her… and they had her card. I made arrangements to pick it up, and the cash was still inside. It’s nice to see that there are still honest people in the world! They even included a little drawing of my daughter, her dad and her brother :) While I was there, I had some lunch myself. It was very tasty, the service was friendly but not intrusive, and the bill was reasonable.

My husband and I were passing by after a Unilocal event, feeling peckish, and $ 9 for Sapporo and calamari, why not? We also had the aburi sampler, salmon roll, and spider roll(we are big eaters). The aburi was really good, to the point we were pleasantly surprised at how well all the flavors melted together. Many other sushi joints are jumping on the aburi wagon after Miku/Minami, but Sushi Bella gives them a run for their money. All of the aburi was very prettily presented, with a «topper» on each type(ex. scallop aburi topped with spicy tuna). The salmon and spider roll were also very good, very fresh ingredients. The calamari was perfectly fried, and the«half» portion on special with the beer was a decent portion. All in all we were more than satisfied and now have a new go-to place for sushi in Kitsilano!

I found this place on Unilocal and it had great reviews. I decided to test out past reviewers suggestions and WOW they were right! With a table of 8 and everyone LOVED the food. Great atmosphere, clean, food is fresh! Nice portion and price is comparable to other restaurants but Sushi Bella is fantastic. Highly recommend this place to anyone! We ate a little of everything and like I said, FRESH! b.y

Fact: At any given moment, of any given day, I am craving sashimi and gomae. Most people with 15 minutes to kill before a business meeting opt for a coffee. Me? I seek out the fastest and highest reviewed sushi joint in a two block radius and proceed to play the game, «How much sushi can Jody eat in 5 minutes.» This afternoon, I popped into Sushi Bella with a whole 20 minutes to spare(bonus!) and i’m quite sure I left the staff with fodder for the next week. «Did you see how fast she ate that? It was monstrous!» Just doing my part to make the service industry a little more entertaining… But next time I have 20 minutes to spare and no wolfing food down shame, i’ll definitely be back to this little spot. For one, it’s pretty as punch and blissfully quiet on a Wednesday afternoon. The service is sweet and fast as lightening — I was easily in and out with a few minutes to spare. I ordered the sashimi bento box, which for $ 15 is surprisingly huge. It comes with assorted sashimi(salmon, tuna, prawn), a dynamite roll, salad, miso, rice and a choice of gyoza, teriyaki or tempura. Yes… I ate all that in 15 minutes. Stop judging and just read would you? Throw an add on gomae into the mix and I was a happy camper. The quick run down: Sashimi — holy hell. This almost did me in. With bento boxes, I expect slivers. I received steaks. Honestly, the portions are huge. There were BRICKS of tuna on my plate. Gold stars all around. Gomae — five stars. I don’t like an overly saucy gomae and this was fresh, light and gone within 20 seconds. Tasty indeed. With the two most important things out of the way, this place already landed its solid four stars, which is good because the rest of the box was a bit of a mixed bag. The tempura was awesome. It came out piping hot which is impressive as I got it within minutes of ordering. However, the dynamite roll? WAY to heavy on the crab. The tempura shrimp got positively lost within this roll. I almost felt bad for it. I’d pass on this next time. The salad, rice and miso were salad, rice and miso. If someone is mucking that up, never, ever eat there. So all in all, they do a mighty job on my two faves so will continue to hold a place on the«15 minutes to kill in Kits» list. But i’d have to give a few more of their rolls a whirl before I would consider this a dinner haunt. From the dynamite, I remain a tad skeptical. Maybe next time, i’ll give myself an extra 10 and explore a little more.

Another Japanese restaurant owned by Korean. We walked in for lunch on Sun noon, they wasn’t busy at all. It’s good atmosphere and great service. Our server was so friendly and helpful. All the dishes we ordered were surprised us and very enjoyable. Trio agedashi tofu — 3-flavour of saucing(mango salsa, tradition, chili spice) and presented nicely. Crispy Crab Cake — Fabulous presentation and perfect matched in prawn, real crab & scallop with creamy fruit sauce, delicious. Bella Tower — Fresh salmon & tuna tartar mixed w/avocado and intimated crab meat. It looked pretty and taste good. Hawaiian Poke — Fresh red tuna sashimi with house made chili sauce, tuna was a bit fishy even though covered from chili sauce. Crab party roll — Just a real crab meat California roll. I wouldn’t mind to go back to Sushi Bella even though it’s not an authentic Japanese restaurant.
