I love nellys! My boyfriend and I come here when we want a nice breakfast date and everytime we always leave happy and full. My boyfriends mom also loved It here. It’s also great when I’m on my lunch break, fast service and good pricing for the amount you get.

Now open thurs to saturday evenings and the food is so much better than you’d expect from a small diner. Really not the same as their brunch stuff which I like but is pretty normal. I had their boeuf bourguignon and sticky chicken on another day and the flavours were so rich it was fantastic, and cheap. $ 18 and $ 14 respectively. I really hope this succeeds as an evening place. It was very quiet in there and the décor is not all that but there are fewer and fewer small independent places like this in Kits they deserve to succeed.

Had a great dinner here Friday. So good we returned the next night. This friendly neighborhood joint is piloting evening dinners Thursday to Sunday that are definitely worth checking out. Hubby raved about the lemon sticky chicken (can be gluten free) and the beef bourguignon and they also serve some of their daily standards inc a great burger with gf bun available. Try ‘em.

Nice waitress, good music … are about the only positive things I can say about my breakfast at Nelly’s Grill yesterday. I ordered a cheese and tomato eggs benny. I received a sweaty cheese slice atop a cold English muffin topped with poached eggs (at least they were decent and warm), a small amount of hollandaise and some meager tomato bits that looked like shavings. It would have been lovely to have received real cheese, melted, and an actual slice of tomato, or was that too much to hope for? All-​in-​all, a very sad breakfast. The nice waitress comped my grapefruit juice, thanks, but I won’t be back.

I am really not sure whether this is a 4 or 3 stars business. I would give 4 if I compare places with similar quality of food or 3 stars if I compare with most of the restaurants that I like in Vancouver.
Nelly’s is a very simple restaurant with decent food, but not really to die for. If you want to go to a place with ok food and good price, this may be a fair choice. If you want a really good food and don’t care to spend couple bucks more, there are better options close by.
Also the beer selections were ok for us. Not so many options. Staff was very friendly and location is pretty good and convenient.

Quite possibly the best greasy spoon in all of Kitsilano. This great little spot is exactly what I was looking for. Great eggs Benny, amazing sandwiches and service that is absolute perfection. Thank you Nelly’s Grill for being so wonderfully charming.

Perfectly acceptable eggs and toast. Had the fruit instead of the potatoes. Very well done. This used to be Joes but one of the original owners bought Joe out.
The room has been updated a bit. Very friendly service.
