If you don’t want to fight the crowds in downtown or Richmond, this is the place. Delicious Ramen that holds it’s own, perfect noodles, delicious Chasu, and good prices. Kitschy décor, small space, limited seating, a hidden gem tucked away in a strip mall located near the border of Burnaby and Vancouver.

Small place, but big flavours. They know what they are doing, the shashu is really good, broth thick and tasty if you are close by and feel like having ramen. The meat is not hin sliced like in the traditional japanese ramen stores also is some how smoked or roasted. Is a good deal. Really tiny space.

Wow! So, if there is only one place where you can eat when here and you’ve already been to Vij’s…well this is the second place. Why? For a BUNCH of reasons… so let me start with: — The Chashu is AMAZING. Like the best that I’ve had… anywhere…including Japan — The broth is Wonderful. Might not be number one… but it’s definitely in the top 3 — The location is nice, cute, friendly… small though — The right toppings are available and it can be «somewhat» spicy. SO…There has to be a downside: — They don’t let you order extra Chasu :( — They don’t have child seats Other than that… amazing!

We checked this place out last weekend(Jan. 9, 2016). It’s a very small joint, with a limited menu. Oddly, they have a big chalk board facing the entrance, warning customers not to ask for too much service(?). The portion was served on a tall bowl, maybe a bit less than other joints, but enough to fill you. The noodles were excellent, chewy and tasty. The pork was a bit too fatty for my taste. Broth was okay, I got the spicy ramen base. They have limited hours of operation, 3 hours around lunch time, and a few hours around dinner time. They played folky music all the time we were there on a good sounding Marshall table speaker. Service was good and friendly.

We’ve been looking for excellent Miso Tonkotsu ever since Ramen Jinya changed their menu in the Fall of ’15. We gave this place a try — but we’re disappointed. The noodles were clumped together in a broth that just tasted salty. The search continues.

I am by no means a ramen connoisseur, but I did enjoy my ramen here. I had the spicy ramen which was topped with egg, cha su, corn, bamboo, seaweed, and green onions. The broth was not super spicy, but it was tasty, and the cha su was tender and very flavorful. The space is quite small(only a handful of tables), atmosphere is super casual, and the service was attentive. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and I left stuffed for $ 9.50. Food is decent, the atmosphere is nice. It’s unfortunate that they got rid of the weekly bone soup special. Their menus are THE cutest though, and I love the decoration!

It’s a pretty solid, no-frills ramen joint, probably family owned and operated. Freshly made noodles in a milky broth. The miso taste is a bit different than other places; however, it is delicious. Portions are reasonable. The pork chasu was quite good. It was rolled up like a porchetta, steamed, and then grilled. Soft, tender, flavorful. Great experience. The shop is a bit small, and they close promptly at 8:30pm with last call at 8pm so get there early. Menu is small but covers all the basics. They have a lot of star wars posters and animé toy figurines.

This is my favourite place for ramen recently even though it is not close to where I live. The broth is good and they do several different soup bases you can choose from. You can also choose the level of saltiness in case you are watching your blood pressure! They also exceed most other ramen shops with the variety and quantity of the toppings that they both provide for free and for additional cost. The value is better than eating downtown and they also have fun decorations for the more animé appreciating costumers! :)

First off, I love love love the service! Always friendly, always fast and always checking that you have enough tea. They never rush you out, even though they are a small restaurant with limited seating. The service is what makes me want to go back again and again. They have such a chill atmosphere… Great place to go with friends. Cute action figures, themed menu and always clean! As for food, it’s DELICIOUS. I especially love the miso ramen.

Quite like this one! Not too busy unlike the ramen restaurants downtown and the ramen was delicious. I had the spicy ramen, and the soup base was mildly spicy, but full of favour. The noodles are made in house and they’re the curly, chewy(delicious) kind. The chasu was on the fattier side – the melt in your mouth kind of pork – and had a sweetness to it. My friends had the miso and shio soup base and they found it was a tad too salty for their taste. I would definitely come back on a rainy winter day!

The name of the ramen restaurant is a bit strange to me but I heard from my friend who lives in the same neighbourhood said this ramen place was good, so I gave it a try. The hand drawing menu looks very simple. There are not too many varieties. My friend ordered a bowl of spicy ramen. I ordered a miso one. When the ramen arrived, the bowl was not very big(a decent size). The soup covered the ramen, corn, egg, bean sprouts, pork, seaweed and etc. We thought the portion might be small. However, when we used chopsticks and a spoon to scoop into the ramen and soup, there was a lot of ramen in the bowl indeed! The flavour of each of our ramen was very good. The spicy ramen was about right(not too spicy that was burning our tongue). The miso one was not too salty. We didn’t feel thirsty after having the soup. The egg tasted very good especially that the yolk was not overlooked. The pork was very soft that once we put into our mouths, the meat melted. We just loved the ramen. The service was fine. We only asked for water and ramen, so the waitress did not really communicate too much with us other than placing an order, giving us water and passing a bill to us. I would like to visit this ramen restaurant if I am around the neighbourhood.

I decided to check this place out due to all the great reviews. Unfortunately, I’ve enjoyed some of the best ramen that Japan has to offer… in Japan! That said, even ramen in Japan is all very subjective and everyone has their own favourite style. I’m more of a Kyushu fan myself. Ramengers trues to hold itself up to the tradition of a ramen shop and keeps it simple: ramen and gyoza. I tried the miso tonkotsu ramen with an addition of may(black garlic oil) which is pointlessly 50¢ extra when I think it should be offered for free. Anyway, the broth was satisfactory enough. That is to say I enjoyed it but was not blown away. The chashu pork was tasty but I found it to be a bit too sweet. The gyoza(5 for $ 4.95) wasn’t worth the price and was severely lacking in taste. The service was okay. Noninvasive and efficient. A friendly face and tactful. I feel bad because you might think I’m knocking this place but, truly, it really isn’t bad and I would enjoy another bowl in the future but, with my ramen experience, the bar is raised quite high.

Small place with good ramen. We walked in only one other table there, I was very surprised because it was Saturday early dinner but this was good for us no wait. Small menu to the point my husband had miso ramen(which he always gets at any ramen place) and I had the spicy ramen. Its a cute little place located in a strip mall on busy Kingsway, small parking lot, lots of street parking. Décor is cute I found to be your typical ramen places with a hint of superheroes(you’ll get it when you see it). When are food arrived I was excited looked really good. Handmade noddles what else can you ask for. My broth was nice and spicy the soup was very filling came with corn, bamboo shoots, green onions, egg, black fungus, and chashu. The chashu was one of the best Ive ever tasted, so tender and flavorful. My husband and I switch half way through our soups just so we can taste each others. The miso was also nice rich broth. We were both very satisfied and will defiantly come back. Cash & Debit only!

Located outside of downtown Vancouver in east Vancouver, this little joint can give the others a challenge. They make their noodles, chasu pork, marinated egg and stock fresh so if you are late, they may run out. When we first walked in, it was small and didn’t have high expectations but first the chasu rice ball came and it was delicious. Then the cheese ramen which comes with all the fixings! Yay no additional charge unless you want double toppings. The large bowl was big enough to feed two. The noodles wee chewy and perfect. If it wasn’t so far from downtown, definitely would be back more often. It’s located in a strip mall on Kingsway and has a few spots for parking which is a bonus. On my top 3 for Vancouver with decent prices. The bathroom wall is a huge chalkboard with messages everywhere which are quite funny. A ramen shop I don’t have to go downtown or(god forbid) Richmond for? Show me the way! As it happened, I was searching for food on Kingsway near the Burnaby border, and whaa? Ramengers was right within slurping distance. It’s a super-cute tiny shop done up with action figures and chalk drawings. Even the menu had pencil-crayon illustrations. They don’t have gyoza, but they do have onigiri with a choice of fillings, so I was all over that option. It arrived like a big warm hug of rice around a generous plug of beef, wrapped in an umami nori jacket. Portable Japanese comfort food at its best. Onto the ramen. It was good, with thick fatty pork and plenty of toppings and chewy noodles. The garnish of shredded spring onions was awkward to eat, however, and the broth was just missing something. It was good, but just not as rich and flavourful as some of the top downtown ramen joints.(I had the shio and my husband had the miso, which was slightly tastier.) There’s definitely distinctive personality on display here, from the toys to the chalkboard crowdsourced mural in the washroom. It was good for a local ramen fix; I don’t know if I’m addicted to their product.

I wanted to find some decent ramen joints without having to drive all the way to downtown and found this gem! The ramen was good and so was the pricing. I loved how everything was made from scratch including the noodles. The noodles had a good chewiness to every bite. The soft boiled egg was perfectly cooked. The corn was bonus! Plus the other toppings. Lastly, the chashu was amazing, tender and flavourful! I found the broth to be decent. It is lighter and less fatty compared to other ramen joints. I did enjoy the broth though. Parking can be a bit difficult on the plaza. However, there is plenty of street parking nearby.

A small Ramen joint with amazing food. I already was excited when I saw the reviews for this place on Unilocal, but I got even more stoked when I walked in to find Animé figures, Gundams and art all over the place! It was pretty busy but they pulled out an extra seat at the bar area and the 2 of us saw the menus. «Wait. WAIT! THEYHAVEONIGIRI?!» Hype level x 1000! The onigiri was DELICIOUS. I had the beef and my friend had the spicy beef, both tasted amazing. We both ordered the Miso Ramen and I added the spicy sauce for .50c and it added a nice flavour. I’m definitely going to be coming back here quite often. The massive Luffy drawing on the chalkboard was just too awesome.

Mmmmm. I have never made a trip to Vancouver and not eat ramen. Ramengers was my place of choice this time. We went in right when it opened and ordered a shio ramen with extra chashu, made it a combo by adding a chashu donburi, and ordered a tuna onigiri. I prefer really tender, melt-in-your-mouth chashu, and this wasn’t it. The cuts were thick and the meat was a bit tough compared to your usual chashu. The very best part about the ramen was the broth and the noodles — the most important components! The broth was perfectly seasoned and rich. The noodles had amazing texture. They were bouncy and had the right amount of give. I think they were the best ramen noodles I have ever had. The chashu bowl had a lot of meat in it. The rice was topped with tobiko and some sort of pickled vegetable. What a deal for only an additional $ 4-$ 5! The tuna onigiri was just that — a ball or rice with tuna inside. But the cherry on top was seared/torched kewpie. Yum!!!

This is located in a strip mall with a few other eateries. There is underground parking but be careful if you park in front as they do tow. The restaurant is quite small, the menu is quite small also. I ordered the Tonkatsu Shoyou Ramen, which is the basic ramen with a nice roasted slice of Pork Shoulder(Chashu), comes with the usual corn niblets, bean sprouts and black crunchy fungus and bamboo chute and smoke egg. The broth is very tasty but I don’t think they have stewed it long enough. The ramen is made on site and I asked to have it less cook. The egg is ok but it was quite cold, most likely just took it out from the fridge and prop it in the bowl. Would be nice if they warm it first before serving. Both the chef and the waitress made sure I was happy with my noodle. The service is good. The taste overall is ok, nothing stands out.
