I had their chicken box to go(C$ 7) for lunch three times now. Very tasty(love the combination of hot and sour) and fulfilling. It is a popular food truck. I went there at around 2 pm, but still took me about 15 minutes to get my order. Will definitely re-visit to try out other meals: D

Ordered a chicken wrap for a quick lunch. Wait time was about 5 – 8 minutes, surprisingly long for food truck + shawarma. Was also surprised when it didn’t come with fries because the pic on the truck had fries in it. That said, the wrap itself was pretty good and packed with flavour(arguably too salty, but would’ve been great with rice on the side), albeit on the small side. Costed $ 7(?) so it’s just alright on the value scale, but I went in hungry and felt satisfied after eating so it’s not bad. Location is great, just beside the library on Robson street. Overall, I was happy with trying out Mr Shawarma for the first time. I wouldn’t rule it out during shawarma cravings(as I would other places in Vancouver), but it wouldn’t be my go to spot either.

Donair was amazing. I went here about the time when they just opened. However it was still busy and about 10 – 15 min wait. But they made each and every order fresh and the wait was worth it coz its one of the best donairs I have had in vancouver. Anytime I go to downtown, this is going to be my go to place for donairs and shawarma. Less variety because the food cart is small. However meat is juicy and good.

One of the two best food trucks in town, for my money. Excellent falafel, piping hot, with great sauces and a smile.

Being a mediterranean food fan, I try the cuisine wherever I go, not discriminating between fine dine, casual eateries & food trucks. It all comes down to good delicious food. Mr. Shawarma passes with flying colors. 3 out of 4 days that we spent in vancouver, I went back to Mr. Shawarma to get a fix of my spicy falafel wrap. The husband tried their chicken wrap & chicken box to go. All great. The food is freshly made while you wait and the pricing is unbeatable. $ 6 for falafel wrap & $ 7 for chicken wrap is as great as pricing can be. And the food is gold. Don’t miss the yummy food experience from this food truck when i Vancouver. I will eat it again when I visit.

I once had a bad shawarma and then I falafel… I mean I felt awful. Since then I haven’t been a big fan of shawarma’s. But I have to say the sandwiches here are pretty good. So is the chicken box. Nothin fancy here. Just grilled chicken served in a pita or on a bed of rice and potatoes. The ingredients are fresh and its good value for money. Also they accept cards. Food: Good Service: Friendly Ambiance:(”) Worth the price:

Stopped here for a snack as was craving a shawarma. I was surprised how long it took them to make it and the wrap was smaller than I thought it would be. Taste wise it was pretty good, albeit simple(no extras like like pickled turnip etc you’ll find at some of the other joints). I still feel that Babylon Café makes the best wraps in Vancouver.

I always get the chicken platter, which is quite good. The included salad could be better, but let’s be honest, no one really cares. The chicken is really tasty. It’s a great lunch spot, and very affordable too at 8.50 for the platter.

Coming from dubai I’m not easily pleased with Arabic food around here but I have to say I was really impressed with both, the chicken and the falafel wraps here. I’ve been having it for the past 3 weekends! Taste and price are hard to beat!

I agree with the other reviews here. I love shawarma and the wrap I had here was one of the best ever. I haven’t seen him at Robson and Hornby for a few weeks now and my shawarma cravings neeeeed satisfaction… Has he moved?

Walking around the streets of Vancouver looking for a light late afternoon snack we spotted the Mr. shawerma truck. My husband is from Lebanon and a Shawerma fanatic. If he sees it he has to have it, if he doesn’t see it he craves it, when he wants it he makes it. I could tell from the Arabic music the guys were listening to and their accents that this was going to be good. We ordered the chicken shawerma with hot sauce and onions. After taking his first bite my husband’s first words were«WOOOOW! This is AMAZING!» Ummmm did I mention he’s the pickiest eater? By picky I mean he picks everything he eats apart & finds something to dislike about it. He didn’t say one negative thing about his sandwich. I’d heard that the food truck scene here in Vancouver is pretty good, but we weren’t even planning to try any food trucks and bam! We did and it blew us away!

Was in the area after visiting the Vancouver Art Gallery and decided to get my hands on some Vancouver street food. Mr. Shawarma was in the right place at the right time. :FOOD: The food was delicious, I had the Chicken Shawarma Pita Wrap. Chicken, Cucumbers, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Parsley, Garlic Sauce, Tahini, Fries stuffed in a Pita Wrap. Yes FRIES. Great on the go food.

WOWSA. The wait is really long here but the food is absolutely worth it. Wife and I got chicken shawarma and a poutine. Like I said, the wait was probably 20 minutes to get our food, but the shawarma was amazing. Fresh off a spit and a decent size too. Poutine was awesome as well. Just like what they have in Quebec where my wife is from. Downside is they only accept cash. However, it’s pretty cheap and halal as well. Would definitely come back.

The best bang for your buck food cart. Mr. Shawarma has a restaurant in Kits and this review is on their new food cart location downtown. A quick, hot and delicious lunch for $ 6 including tax is hard to beat. The pita wrap came with chicken, garlic sauce, diced cucumbers, lettuce, tomatoes, parsley, Tahini sauce and fries all wrapped together. 5% of the meat tasted a little dry so if they can omit the drier pieces then this would have been close to perfect. I’m also not a huge fan of the fries in the pita wrap as well so I would probably ask them to hold the fries next time.(got too soggy) Other than those minor details, the chicken was juicy and I walked away with a happy belly.
