The takeaway pad thai was ok, not greasy at all like some of the reviews here say. Not sure what people were expecting. I’m probably going to check them out again given I’m now working in the neighborhood… and might up my score if it stays on my list of regular places.

Being a new to the neighborhood, I’ve been looking around both nice restaurants and quick fixes. I gave this place a try, but found that the food was a bit too«fast» for me. The bak choy in my dish was not cooked very thoroughly, my noodles were a bit on the salty side, and the chicken salad I ordered was missing the chicken. However, I do have to say the service was very friendly and the manager was apologetic about the incorrect order and prepped a very good chicken salad that I would actually return for in the future. Overall, the customer service and interaction was very good but the dishes need a bit more work.

I feel like I should have read the review first… I was very disappointed :(The owner was really friendly to me and their mango iced tea tasted decent, but 2⁄3 of the cup was ice. I ordered the main course(Stir fry) for $ 10 was a joke. It was extremely oily, overly salty, had a lot of MSG and it tasted like microwaveable food! On top of that, I had to go somewhere else to buy second lunch after spending $ 15 as the portions were extremely small and it didn’t fill me up half way. Somebody on Unilocal mentioned they preferred fast food food court vendors and I would totally agree. Would I return? Unfortunately no. I give 2 stars because the owner was very friendly at least. Despite my ravenous state, I gave the food to the birds after I tried a few spoonfuls of food. Edit: Changed to one star as I haven’t had worse food in downtown.

Everything I’ve tried on the menu is great. Stir fries are varied and interesting. The Pad Thai is the best thing on the menu(in my opinion), but the Sesame Beef Flats and Coco Chicken are close seconds. The portions are big. The price is reasonable for Yaletown(it’s not as cheap as the Subway but the food is way better). They’re also very adaptable to allergies and special diet requirements.

this place! ugh! went for a quick lunch(i work in the neighbourhood) and was super disappointed. everything was so expensive! I went with the $ 7 veggie dumplings. not only did it take a long time, but the serving size was so meagre! the food was mediocre… tasted okay, but was kind of greasy. seems like most of the stuff is just frozen and then reheated, which is not my bag. this place is a definite miss. i’d go for lunch at subway before hitting up fuse again, and that says something, because i never support large franchises when i have a choice.

Little surprised at some of the low reviews, as I really like Fuse and have grabbed take away about 6 times or so. Friendly owner, good fresh food. The menu isn’t set in stone, so whenever I show up, I just ask for the special. I’ve only been disappointed once, and that was simply a matter of not being a fan of tofu. The homemade ginger beer is pretty awesome. As for negatives — The take away containers are pretty flimsy. The food takes about 7 – 10 on average. The prices are a little high. Good little place for a local lunch.

I wondered in here on my way home from work. I got the coco red curry chicken and the flavor was decent but there was way too much rice and not nearly enough chicken and vegetables. Over priced for what is was. If it had 3 times the amount of chicken and veg, I would go back and get it again.

In hopes of a quick dinner, I stopped by Fuse a few nights ago. Food — 1⁄5: I ordered the Singapore style-noodles. There’s «Pan-asian» and«fusion», and then there’s «no where close to even resembling the original dish». But the kicker? My dish came so saucy and SOSALTY, I couldn’t eat more than five bites. Disappointing as I was hungry. A food court vendor could do better. Service — 3⁄5: There was only one staff person there(very obviously not the owner) who took our order, cooked our food, and served us. She was pleasant enough, but obviously doesn’t know a thing about cooking. Value — 1⁄5: $ 9.50 wasted! Atmosphere 2⁄5: Clean, but a bit sticky. There might be some ventilation problems — the place felt hot and stuffy. Definitely not coming back here.

If only I could give zero stars… I went to the Fuse Café at the Roundhouse this morning(sister café to Fuse Pan Asian Express) and ordered an iced Thai coffee. While drinking it I saw what I thought were a few coffee grinds floating around(it’s a milky drink so I didn’t see them closely). It was only when I got to the bottom of the drink that I realized that what I thought were coffee grinds had legs and that THEYWEREANTS! There were 6 or 7 of them, and some of them were still alive! SOGROSS! I immediately took the empty cup to the counter and told the server, who seemed not to know what to do. I asked her to call her boss, who I spoke with me on the phone. She basically blamed the employee and said she was coming down right away and would look into the matter and get back to me. Three hours later and I have yet to hear from her. If this were my establishment and a customer experienced something like this, I’d make sure to do everything I could to assure them that it wouldn’t happen again and to then to make sure that the customer wasn’t leaving feeling angry and repulsed. Instead, the owner and staff at Fuse seem not to care. I will obviously never go back there, and would urge others to avoid it(unless they like extra protein).

Ridiculous for what you pay for and what you get. $ 6 for about ¼ cup of stir fried green beans and $ 6 for some pan fried dumplings!!! Had to go get a second lunch after spending $ 14 here!!!

* 3.5 stars * Service is super friendly. The owner remembers customers and makes sure to greet each person as they walk in the door. Granted, she does a phenomenal job of upselling as she promotes the specials and complementary options. Most of the time, I like this because it takes away any need for me to think — she just suggests something. The place is fairly tiny, mostly take-out but makes for a casual eat-in spot when you need a little break. The crispy chicken mango salad is great. It’s a good balance of healthy and savory. Lemongrass chicken wrap was good. Pan fried dumplings are pretty good — pretty standard. Pad thai was a little different, but then again I’m in an «express café» so I think it was good for what I was paying. Their menu is continually evolving so check it out and give it a couple of tries. While you wait on your food, enjoy the smells and sounds of foods being freshly prepared. This is not«express» in the way that you’ll have your food slopped out of a pre-cooked trough. Everything is prepped to order and worth the wait. They also have a variety of take-away options in fridge — mostly salads and wraps. Also, be sure to try their black currant iced tea.

I actually have been to this place twice. I remember the first time wasn’t that great, and after almost a year, I decided to give this place another try. This time wasn’t any better and in fact, I’ve discovered more negative points about this place. First time I was there with my friend for lunch. We ordered for dine-in. I had the Indonesian fried rice. My mom was born and raised in Indonesia, so I grew up eating authentic Indonesian food. That’s far from being a traditional Indonesian fried rice. I get that it’s supposed to be a fusion cuisine, but it’s just way too sweet and salty. My friend had the stir fry and he said it’s ok. Almost a year later, I walked by this place and thought to myself«maybe it’ll be better this time.» Was I ever wrong! This time I ordered to build your own stir fry, and had it to go. I stood there to wait for my order. This time I could actually see how they prepared the food — with Microwave!!! Again this time the food tasted too sweet and salty. It’s not even freshly made, with that price, I’d be better off buying frozen entrée and re-heat it with microwave myself!

My and my boyfriend stopped here one day for some food we could drag out into the sun and eat, we ended up at Fuse. The place was desserted but it was the afternoon and I am sure this is more of a lunch spot for local office staff. The women working there was friendly and pleasant, service was quick but that is to be expected when you are the only people there. I got the pad thai and wasn’t impressed. I could eat it again but I wouldn’t want to. The noodles were soggy, the sauce was bland, the tofu was nothin’ special and the peanuts were like the peanuts you get in a little baggy from McDonald’s with your ice cream sunday. Edible, but not good. The second star is purely because the woman working there was very friendly!

What a hidden gem! Fuse is the perfect name for the place, they have a mix of different Asian foods: some Chinese, some Thai, some Japanese. just. a fusion. I had their pad-thai special: $ 11 for pad thai, a beef pastry/dumpling thing and some veg. Tasty food, cute little atmosphere, and very friendly staff. Also, you can get takeout! Just note it’s a tiny little place. the only time I was there it wasn’t busy, but there isn’t a lot of table room.

This Yaletown restaurant is something that is needed in the neighbourhood. If only it was good. Fuse is basically a café with a selection of Asian Tapas(whatever that is), noodle and rice bowls and a miscellaneous selection of other asian like food. I had the Singapore noodles and asked for them spicy as I prefer my Singapore noodles to have a bit of a kick to them. In order to spice the noodles up they added a lot of garlic. WTF? Not only were they not spicy they were really not recognizable as Singapore noodles since there was no curry flavour at all. A solid meh.
