Chinese Skewer King

All he had left by the time I got there was the pork skewers. How does someone run out of veggies?
While the spices are good, the pork itself was not so great. Greasy, and many of the pieces had a less-​than-​pleasant texture.

I passed by and didn’t see the friendly skewer king set up in its normal spot. I thought it was a bit strange, as their skewers are tasty, and they have had a line every time I’ve been there.
Dug around a bit, and apparently they are having trouble with Vancouver Coastal Health:
On their most recent health inspection they received, «Verbal warning not the cook or store raw potentially hazardous food. Cart voluntarily closed down for the day.»
Apparently their permit only allows them to serve pre-​cooked food. Not sure pre-​cooked skewers are going to taste very good. So I’ll be curious to see what modifications they make, and how the taste changes once (if) they re-​open.
Really too bad, as that chili cumin dip on the juicy meat skewers is just delicious.
