We’ve been to the Pirate Pub before for nachos, but never again. In the past the portion sizes were big enough for 2 people. Today we ordered nachos again only to get something maybe half the size. They are still $ 16 before you even add meat. Adding the table spoon of pulled pork brought it to $ 23! We mentioned it to the waitress upon paying only be to be told«it’s our biggest complaint» well why aren’t you fixing it then? Or at least let patrons know it’s substantially smaller…

on a sunny day, this is the best afternoon drinking pub in the city. They have great sangria and all their rum drinks are delicious. Big nachos is also a good call if you’re hungry. In the winter however it’s kinda a ghosttown.

One star for location and view. I’m currently sitting on their patio, it’s been 30 minutes(and counting) since we sat down and we have yet to have our order taken. The servers are useless. Never coming back here. EDIT: It’s been another half an hour since we ordered our food, which only happened after 40 minutes into our stay. Our one small plate of $ 17 nachos has finally arrived. Our pitcher of beer is now warm and flat. Side note about the weak nachos: last time we came here, we had gotten a way bigger portion, and the sour cream had been on the side instead of slathered on top(my partner doesn’t like sour cream on top of his food). We’re now waiting for the bill, and will probably have to go up to the front to try and pay for it. We also had paid for 2 hours of street parking, and thought we’d be able to go for a little walk after lunch. That’s not going to happen…

Great location with a great patio and view. Moderate to expensive prices. Decent service. My only issue was there was a wait to be seated sign and no one came. A couple of people snakes a table from us as we waited. Eventually we seated ourselves. Bf had the spicy chicken burger and enjoyed it. I had the veggie burger which was disappointing. It was very greasy, thin, and bland. The bun was great. Soft and whole wheat. Nice toppings. I paid extra for the worst caesar salad I think I have ever had. Usually when u pay more money you at least expect some parmesan cheese or bacon bits. All I got was Romaine and dressing. Coffees $ 3. Not a lot of specials. Go for the patio though, it’s worth it.

What a great spot! A+ views of the marina. — Staff is very friendly and attentive. — Dogs are welcome on the patio. A++++++ — Plenty of TVs — Only thing that sucks is there’s only one washroom stall for men, and one stall for women. Not a good look when there’s a gallon of beer that wants to rush out of you. lol Food Recs: — House burger(8⁄10) — not a gourmet burger, but definitely does the trick. — Marguerite Pizza(8⁄10) — Great Selection of Beer. love their IPA, whatever it is. — Fries!!! A+

Here for the house burger and fries, diet coke. With Portrait Lovers Meet Up Group on the patio. Nice bar and grill in false creek area by Burrard Bridge. You have to capture the moment and enjoy life with good food.

A really nice spot to hit on a sunny day on the patio. Came here on a hot sunny afternoon with my boyfriend but had to wait for a patio seat. It wasn’t too bad of a wait. the Hostess was really friendly and checked in with us a couple times while we waited. Their drinks are on the pricey side and they don’t have anything in terms of specials. We ordered a calamari and it was quite awful. Incredibly dry and tiny. I’d come back to enjoy the views and a drink but I don’t think I would order food here.

Great location, absolutely horrible food. Nachos were stale, fish and chips were dry, poutine had three nuggets of cheese. Beer overpriced. Pitcher of rum cocktail was 90% orange juice. Service was average and rushed. Shame because it is my neighborhood pub. Never again. I’ve had a lot of average pub food but this really sucked. All three of us us left feeling annoyed.

The location and view are awesome, one of the best places in Vancouver to watch the world walk and float past. I stopped by the other night for a relaxing drink and to chill out. I ordered the bar snack of chorizo sausage and fries. The sausage wasn’t even chorizo and the fries were soggy, stale and had clearly been re heated. Dismal effort. It’s not hard to do good food these days. My server was lovely and very professional but this place could be so much better.

This place is in a great location with a lovely view but the service is just awful on every occasion. I try to bring visitors to Vancouver here to show off the view and frequently end up embarrassed by the slow service and slightly overpriced food. You’ll sit here for an eternity and wait to be greeted. Our waitress just left after we asked for the bill, leaving us to wait fifteen minutes to even pay. The rum cocktails are tasty I guess. Is it so impossible for Vancouver to have a waterfront bar that’s actually GOOD?!

This spot is one of my favourite spots in Vancouver to go on a Summer day… but for 1 reason only… the patio & the view! It is directly on the seawall path, under the Burrard St. Bridge. We love looking out on the water at all the Yachts, watching people go by on the sea wall & enjoying some beer in the sun. We walk the sea wall very often in the summer & we always bring our 75lb dog. The patio allows dogs to sit under or beside your table, while you eat or enjoy a drink. Which is a huge bonus for us! The server will even bring your dog a bowl of water & a treat! Now onto the bad…(1) Service is mediocre(2) food is horrible(3) manager is not very friendly(4) they are always out of food or beer &(5) kitchen is very slow! 1) The servers that have served us have been mediocre. It is definitely hit or miss. Some servers have been very friendly & helpful, others are the complete opposite. 2) Food is not very good. Over cooked, undercooked, cold — you could tell it sits under the heat lamp for a long period of time before its run out to you. 3) The manager is a power tripper & not very helpful if you have a problem(like cold food). So don’t expect much from him… He is not very friendly or approachable & just plain miserable. 4) Every time I have sat down to order, they tell you they are out of something on the menu. We were there once and they were LITERALLY out of everything except french fries(beer included). They are almost always out for mussels & oysters. Such a disappointment! 5) Expect to wait a long time for your food. I don’t think I have ever received my food in less than 45 minutes. If it wasn’t for the beer, view, pet friendly patio & good company I would steer clear of this restaurant! Hopefully one day soon it will be under better management!

Let me start with saying this place has a fantastic patio and it great for a pint. That being said the food is far from stellar as is the case with all Daniel Group establishments. Be warned the manager is a power tripper with a specific and mind boggling set of rules. If you want to sit outside you will have to wait outside. You are not allowed to have a drink inside or at the bar. So instead of making money from the customer they make you wait. If you dare go inside for a drink, completely against the rules, you will not be moved to the patio even though there is plenty of room inside. If you even think about questioning the rules you will be told in an insulting manner«I’d rather not have your business». This guy needs to go. March 7,2015 #danielgroup

Excellent spot under the Burrard Bridge with a killer waterfront view over to Granville Island. BUT., terribly slow service(basing this after five or more visits, not a one off) and regularly under staffed. It’s no exaggeration to say that I’ve waited best part of 30 minutes for a drink order to arrive. I’m not sure how that’s possible. The food is also pretty poor. So you’re their for view alone. Which is just worth it. The patio area is dog friendly, and if you can stand the inevitable long wait, a server will bring out a water bowl and dog treat which is a nice touch.

Great view, killer nachos and pizza, friendly staff… what’s not to like? A better beer menu would have made me give this place five stars.

It’s a great place to hang out! I felt happy and carefree. But maybe that’s the bubbly wine talking! Ordered the fork and knife burger, delicious wine reduction mushroom sauce. The nacho is huge! But it wasn’t the best nacho that we’ve ever tried. Location: 5 starts out of 5 Service: 5⁄5 Atmosphere: 5⁄5 Fork and knife burger: 5⁄5 Nachos: 2,5/5 One tip: Go there a little later so that the sun doesn’t directly shine on your face. We went on August 17 and it was great after 6pm when the sun dipped behind the Burrard bridge.

Aside from the view and cool pirate theme décor, I cannot think of anything else keeping this place afloat. And I can tell you right now, it is certainly NOT the food! The service was great. Our waitress was very friendly and understanding, as she had to be later on. I took one look at the menu and decided to try some appetizers. We ordered the Poutine, Calamari, and Bacon-wrapped Oysters. Simple enough? The food came and right away, we notice that the Calamari was a bit pale. We took a few bites and realized it tasted as pale as it looked. Pass. Next, we had some Poutine. How do you really mess up a bowl of french fries with gravy and cheese? You just don’t. It wasn’t fantastic, but it was edible. Finally, the Bacon-wrapped Oysters… words cannot describe. I put my knife through it and green gunk oozed all over the rock-hard toast supporting the Oysters. I don’t know why, but I put the half piece in my mouth and ate it. Worst decision of the day. My friend had finished an entire piece before realizing that she shouldn’t have. Right away, the toilet called her name. Our plates and forks were also soiled with rotten oyster juice. Wonderful. Needless to say, we rejected the dish. Our waitress offered a replacement, to which we accepted. We decided to try the only dessert on the menu: Deep Fried Banana Cheesecake. Sounds too good to be true? It was. The dessert came and sure, it was sweet and crunchy, but the cheesecake was nowhere to be found. It was coated in cinnamon sugar, which made it that much more deceiving. I felt cheated. It might as well have been Deep Fried Banana with cinnamon sugar. We just don’t learn our lessons fast enough. Thank goodness I had a coffee and nothing else to drink. The bill came, and wouldn’t you know it… she charged us for the dessert. After the horrendous Oysters, you would think that they’d have the courtesy to give you dessert on the house. After all, it was the replacement. But, we didn’t fuss. We paid, we left and we never looked back. Word to the wise: if you’re even thinking about this pub, don’t waste your time.

Nice place under the bridge to grabs bite to eat — directly on the bike path. We sat outside and could see Granville island. Got the seasonal local ale and fresh fish. Inside, the World Cup was on several TVs. Very nice scene.

Another amazing spot in beautiful Vancouver where you enjoy spectacular view while eating & drinking. I orderdered the knife & fork burger with salad & fries. The burger was excellent & the salad was fresh & tasty. The staff was very nice & welcoming. I strongly recommend the burger if you are burgers fan.

This place is A-Ok in a nutshell. I came here with a friend on the recommendation of another friend. I got the Nachos an my friend got the Eggs Benny on special. The nachos were HUGE, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. They were tasty, AND came with gauc(which seems to be a requirement most places forget!!). Not only was the pile huge, but it was also all nacho to the bottom(not just a layer of nachos atop a massive pile of chips). It’s hard to whine about the price given the quantity and relatively good quality. My friend seemed pleased with his meal – he certainly ate it fast enough. The location is hard to beat, too.

Excellent patio space but can get windy here by the water. Beautiful view of Granville Island during sunset. Not sure if they have 2 names but it said Pirate’s Pub on the menu and had a fun selection of grog and rum! Tried the flor de cana 7 year and ordered the moules frites for sharing. Mussels were nothing special but the fries, speckled with black pepper, were quite tasty. It was packed when I was there so service was quite slow but friendly when we got it. Would go back for another sunny patio drinking day.
