Ordered countless coffees here. Delicious Illy coffee — much smoother and creamier tasting than Starbucks but at the same price. Friendly staff and classy décor with pleasing sandwiches. This is an underrated gem.

The mixed green and salmon was pretty good. Totally worth the price. However the cheesecake tastes like some frozen fast food. I will not pay more than $ 2 for the cheesecake.

My review is based on the brunch buffet(only served on Sundays). I have not ordered off their menu before. The sunday brunch buffet is absolutely amazing! Such great variety and high quality food items. Staff is attentive and the atmosphere is casual, spotless, and open concept. I will make Beyond my go to brunch place! With the quality and variety of food you are getting the price is great at 26.00 per person.

The restaurant looks like an LSD trip gone awry. Food is terrible, bland and way too pricey for what you get. If you find yourself in the unfortunate position of being here, go for the chicken it is safe. Everything else is awful. Do not, under any circumstances order the Bruschetta it is an evil creation that should be banished from the world.

I’m usually not crazy about the idea of dining at a hotel restaurant, particularly when visiting a city with as many culinary options as Vancouver. The hotel package I booked for the Century Plaza included a voucher for the Beyond Restaurant, though, so we decided to try them out for breakfast before departing. We were not disappointed! This restaurant features an ‘upscale’ menu, with prices to match. Honestly I probably would have taken one look at the menu and gone elsewhere if it weren’t for the voucher. Not that the prices here are astronomical or anything, they just aren’t economical either– and if I’m going to pay a premium I’d prefer to do it somewhere besides a hotel lobby. The staff here are courteous and professional, and the cooks certainly know what they are doing as well– our meals were great! The coffee was pretty good, too :-)

This was the third time we dined at Beyond Restaurant. The first time we visited was for a Comedy and Dinner package we bought with some friends. That was 3 years ago and honestly I don’t remember much apart from the restaurant was nice, had nice décor, and the food was decent. As mentioned, our dinner was part of a package so our meal choices were limited, but I remember everyone in our group being satisfied. My last two visits were also part of a package, through the attached hotel, Century Plaza and Suites. We had breakfast after a night in the hotel and both enjoyed the selection and food quality. The servers on both occasions were quiet, reserved, and professional. Service was fast. The food was good quality with nice touches like natural can sugar cubes for coffee and little jars of jam. The bangers were good… though it always makes me wonder when a place uses a work describe something that so clearly is called something else on this side of the Atlantic Ocean.

I came here today after my delightful spa treatment at Absolute Spa for a glass of wine. The atmosphere is very urban, very«hotel restaurant,» the room is clean and decorated modernly(if you consider 2000 modern). The music, however, was just so generic… Like elevator or on-hold music. The hosts were lovely and pointed me toward the bar. I sat and perused the wine menu without dialogue from the bar tender. Hi friend, here is your opportunity to educate me about your product. So I chose a wine from the list. An excellent Californian Merlot poured into a spotless glass. The reason for my 2 star review is the bar tender. Apparently this bar tender is actually the manager(deduced when I overheard a server telling him what shifts she could and could not work), which makes matters even more disappointing. This man did not say a word to me. Despite the fact that I arrived alone, sat alone at the bar, and spent a significant chunk of time with my phone in my pocket, I didn’t even get a «how’s the wine» or «how’s your day been.» In fact, I didn’t even get a smile. Oh but the staff on shift did. There was plenty of time to observe them all hanging out chatting. Basically, I’d rather spend my $ 15 for a glass of wine elsewhere.

Just really mediocre. very much a hotel restaurant. it would serve your purposes if you were staying in the hotel and couldn’t be bothered to venture further.

We were seated in the restaurant, then a server came to take our order. We ordered 2 starters, server came back and said they were out of both of them. Ordered 2 entrees, server came back and said they were out of the risotto that goes with one of the dishes. Had to order a new side dish for the entrée. THEN the halibut came and it had bones in it, which I almost choked on. I’ve never in my life had bones in a halibut filet before. Why don’t servers know what the kitchen is out of? Why don’t they tell you that before you order from their menu? Why are they so sloppy as to leave the bones in the halibut? I’d never go back here. Never.

This place must be under new management or ownership. I was there for Christmas day 2012 and was over the moon with the quality of the food and service. This time I took my mother out for their Mother’s day brunch in May. BAD, BAD, BAD! The food was cold. The lobster was rancid. We go NO service as the waiters were all to busy busing tables. I repeat: $ 40 per person brunch and the wait staff were actually spending more time busing the tables than taking care of us or other customers. When our wait person did come by, it was to take our plates before we were finished eating what was on them. They couldn’t even get our drink orders right. We would get coffee but no cream, no spoons, no sugar. The whole place was completely disorganized and the staff looked extremely stressed. I spoke to the manager(who wreaked of cigarette smoke), about the situation and he didn’t even offer to comp or reduce the amount on our bill. I gave him my e-mail and he said he would send me a coupon or something to make up for it. I never heard back from him. Dear Beyond Restaurant: I WANTMYMONEYBACK!

Went here on vacation and got a coupon for 20 bucks off the order with no limit. I just grabbed dessert after a night of drinking. The Latte was excellent and the dessert isn’t too bad. I had the chocolate cake and it was delicious. but pricey. The breakfast here is average hotel quality. I would recommend it if you have no where to go.

I’ve had a chance over the last week to experience both the Sunday Brunch and a breakfast — I would choose to go with the brunch — there was a large selection of items and even though I arrived later in the day items still appeared hot and fresh. I went with a pretty traditional breakfast and the sausages were particularly good. They also had a nice carving station and plenty of brunch items. I would come again for this. Breakfast was okay and would be comparable to most places — nothing really bad nothing really outstanding. The hashbrowns could of been impressive as they were nicely quartered red potatoes but appeared to have been cooked much earlier in the day and were not as good had they just come off the grill. Service was good and attentive. For somebody looking for a standard breakfast before heading out for the day you could far worse.

Okay, I have to update my review. I love these guys. So much. Every time I go in there all the staff in the café know my name, we chat and they make really good coffee. Even the hotel staff make me smile. Makes running across the street to grab a coffee so great!

A great stop and go location. This place is a great little restaurant in the Century Plaza Hotel. My friend and I stopped here before heading out to the airport. It was quick and easy and the food was delicious. They even had a little gelato section that I wish I got to try. I ordered a cup of cream of chicken and mushroom soup and a turkey panini. Both excellent. The soup had tender pieces of chicken and the cream wasn’t too watery or thick. The panini was perfect. The press on the bread made the sandwich nice and thin without losing any of the ingredients inside. I tasted each layer inside: the turkey, lettuce, red onion, tomato, swiss, and aioli(may have been garlic aioli). Only downfall was that half the menu wasn’t available. I wouldn’t bother looking at the menu and would just go straight to the glass display to see what they have. A litte sad because I initially anted a different panini but I quickly forgot about it as soon as I took my first bite. MmmMM Hmmm.

I work at St. Pauls and I am a horrible coffee snob.(So the cafeteria Starbucks coffee has to be diluted by many creamers before I can think of drinking it.) Finding Beyond Café, serving Illy coffee, was like having a moment where the angels sang and the heavens opened up! Their lattes are incredibly tasty, not burnt. They have this granola/nut square that has peanut butter in it and is ridiculously good,(not to mention guilt free because it’s all nuts). If you are in the neighborhood and just don’t feel like having to dilute your latte with syrups so that you can stand them… go here.

Starving and its early morning. Where to go? After searching online for menus at hotels close to me, we decided to check this place out as it was just down and across the street in the Century Plaza hotel. We were seated quickly and the hostess was friendly. Our waiter however was not. He went to pour coffee for my bf who does not drink coffee and looked rather put off when he declined. I ordered a mocha and he brought it and only one glass of water(for my bf) We checked the menu and decided. My bf went for the eggs Benny and I had the granola, and a side of ham, English muffin, and hash browns extra crispy. The waiter again looked put off and left to put in our order. It didn’t take too long. The granola was AMAZING! Oh yes it was homemade and full of cashews, apricots and other bits of deliciousness ! It also came with a generous serving of yogurt. The ham was watery and not cooked as well done as I would of liked it and the English muffin was ok. Hash browns were actually steamed baby potatoes –tasty but far from crispy never mind extra crispy as per request. My bf, s eggs were perfectt ! Real holindase not runny at all but cooked to his liking and as a Chef he is very picky! So for him to give them a thumbs up means a lot! The waiter never came to ask if we needed anything but we were able to flag him down and ask him for our bill. With tip and tax it was $ 38 Would return but hope to get a different server.

Sunday Brunch ROCKS! After church I often head next door for the sunday brunch at Beyond. It’s not cheap($ 25.00 and up) but the selection of foods includes everything from Belgian Waffles and Eggs Benny to Roast Beef and Scalloped Potatos, Braised Shortribs, and for desert a chocolate fountain. My only regret is that they don’t have a large desert selection for my sweet tooth, but otherwise you can’t go wrong.

Cool, modern atmosphere. A large space, with restaurant on one side, and a lounge with comfy leather couches on the other. A red toned atmosphere, with dark brown wood accents, and beautiful glass panels with bold patterned furniture adds some pizazz to this place. We came here for dessert one late Saturday night. It was quite empty inside, except for a couple of people at the lounge and some at the bar. We sat at the lounge, then decided it would be better to sit on the restaurant side so it would be easier for us to eat our dessert. They seemed hesitant to move us over, but in the end, we got a table for two. They have a dedicated dessert menu, with cocktails and wines as well. They have a innovative cocktail list, with many yummy sounding ones. Tonight though, we decide otherwise, and have some tea instead. For the good part, we get a «Beyond» tiramisu, and a pistachio crème brûlée. I was really excited for it… what would it taste like? It arrives… a good sized crème brûlée, with bits of pistachio on top. The«Beyond» tiramisu was served in a cup, like a parfait, with fruits in layered within. The crème brûlée was absolutely delicious. I’m a pistachio fan, plus the crème brûlée, made this dessert perfect. It wasn’t too sweet, and just the right texture. The piece of cinnamon sugar sprinkled phyllo was a nice touch. The tiramisu was ok. I wished they didn’t put it in such a small glass, because it was kind of hard to scoop everything out. There was a good amount of mascapone, and the amount of chocolate and rum was perfect. Even though it was late and they were setting up for the next day’s service, the service was still good. They allowed my friend and I to catch up, and talk. We stayed there for a while, but they didn’t try to rush us out. A relaxing atmosphere, and good service. A good place to lounge and have a drink.
