Lickerish offers a small lounge experience but with a very solid DJ and entertainment system it can be very vibrant and sexy evening. I have only been here twice therefore I have to question their consistency in steadily bringing a decent crowd. This is definitely a good space to host a get together with friends, especially if your crowd is into dance Rap/R&B .Without an official dance floor space one may struggle to really let loose, but there were many ladies dancing around the bar and enjoying themselves during my most recent visit. The Good: DJ played legit Hip-hop tunes, none of that top-40 radio stuff that fills up most night life in the Granville area. Servers were fairly attentive, polite and courteous throughout the whole night. The Bad: The drinks here are horrible. I had one of the worst negroni cocktails of my life here and overpaid for it to boot. Perhaps that is not their speciality and its more of a Rum and Coke place?!? In addition to not having anything to eat, I probably need to give this lounge one more visit on a similar hip-hop night before conclusively giving it a 3⁄5 stars.

Decided to finally check out Lickerish for Dine Out Vancouver 2016, we have been meaning to come here for the last two years’ dine outs but we just ended up going to other ones. I’m so glad we finally checked it out — totally a lounge vibe, and I really enjoyed the things we tried. Their drink specials are from 5 — 7 pm(perfect for after work drinks) and it’s $ 3 for high balls. They also have food for $ 4 but I’m not sure what exactly those options are. I tried the korean ribs(pork), the chicken tacos, and the deep fried mars bar. All the food was great, the korean ribs were a tad salty for my liking. My favourite part about this place is the music, 90’s hip hop and r&b — and there’s large screens above the bar that play music videos too so entertaining. Music wasn’t too loud, here and there they would turn it down or up. I think later at night they have a DJ that comes on I saw a booth. Upstairs seems to be a more lounge-y area than downstairs. I’d totally come back for a Girls Night Out

I live a block from this place. I have been here at least 6 times in the last few months, why? Because they have great service, music and food!!! Bianca the bar manager is so welcoming and friendly. You’d think the food is mediocre but for the price you pay, it tastes better than the overpriced places around it. The ambiance is dark, music is old school hip hop, with a live DJ on weekends or special nights. Honestly, I’m so glad I live close to this place!

I was stuck between three and four starts, but I’m giving Likerish four stars for their honest staff. Thank you Bianca for finding and returning my friend’s lost Gucci bag. You and the other staff member who found it are amazing people. My friends and I had been partying here and sipping on their drink specials and food specials one night.(Seriously, the drinks here are pretty good and not that expensive. In fact Likerish is one of the few places that carries a Happy Hour until 7 while most places shut theirs down at 6.) And we partied into the night. They had a great DJ that night, I think it may have been a special night as DJ Nicky Wolfe was spinning. My friend lost her expensive Gucci bag and luckily the next day the wonderful staff here found it and returned it. Thank you guys! Lickerish is awesome in that it’s actually bigger than it appears. There is an upstairs which is nice and quiet if you are there with a big party and I’ve been to a networking event here and there at that upstairs space. I love the décor and art in this space. The artwork here is amazing. Food and drinks are pretty decent and inexpensive. Likerish is probably one of the most underrated party spots as it’s in that little gap on Davie just after Celebrities and right before Granville. It’s worth checking out and chilling at over and over again.

Such a cool place. The waitress was one of the best I’ve ever had. She was blonde but we forget her name. She wore a gold one piece on Pride. She was attentive but most importantly, just super nice and personable. We went there twice during our trip and got the yam fries both times because they’re to die for. We also got kamikaze shots because they were on special. Delicious! Definitely coming back next time I’m in Vancouver!

Briefly stopped into Lickerish on a Friday night. We were seated — on the patio– within minutes which was very impressive given it was the same night as the pride block party. However, we waited a while and no one came to take our orders. Eventually my friend just went to the bar. The server came over about 5 minutes later with our drinks though she forgot the water– this eventually came about 10 mins later. The lounge was fairly packed but there weren’t people standing on top of each other. There are 2 levels so even though it looks small, it can pack in quite a lot of people. The bathrooms are upstairs– very clean– thank you :) The best part about Lickerish was the music. It was refreshing to hear some 90s R&B for a change! Great, chilled spot!

Came here to the lounge for a friends stag and horrible service. I understand it was pride. We had asked for water 5 times. The waitress is not worth the 18% tip they charge for groups.

If you like old school hip hop this is the place to go. I went for a friend’s 30th birthday so we were in the space upstairs. There were retro hip hop videos playing which brought us all back to the old days & gave us a few good laughs. The art consists of well done paintings of hip hop artists and the brick & low lighting make it a great space to chill with friends. The music was loud enough to enjoy but not so loud you couldn’t talk over it. Our server was cute, friendly & prompt. In groups over 8, they automatically add 18% gratuity to the bill which was fine for us as she definitely earned it serving our group of 16. Just something to be aware of & check your bill for. We had food, drinks & of course shots. The drinks were a bit on the pricer side considering their smallish size. Doubles were definitely not doubles and the sangria was lacking in wine. The food was pretty disappointing. The menu is fairly small but had a few things that sounded interesting. I had the shrimp stuffed jalapeños & the pulled pork sliders. You definitely need two appetizers as their portions are stingy. I was expecting a plate of maybe 4 or 5 full jalapeños stuffed with the shrimp, cheese, etc. but received 2 tiny, limp jalapeños cut in half with a little bit of mix in the hollow part. The flavour of the sliders was good enough but the bun was on the dry side and there was not enough pork inside. Our friends were pretty disappointed with the chicken & waffle flatbread and Mac & cheese. Most of us felt like the food was overpriced for what you got — basically half portions desperately trying to seem like full portions. Another thing to note is that when you go with a group they take your credit card & hang on to it until you leave. If I ever go back it’ll be to laugh at old school hip hop videos — oh wait… I can do that at home.

Lickerish is by far one of the better Vancouver lounges I have been too. I love all the menu items(specially the shrimp). The drinks are also amazing, they can pretty much make anything you ask. If you want to have a good time, listen to good music, eat quality food that is reasonably priced than I highly recommend Likerish. This lounge has a very NYC feel.

This was a really cool happy hour joint. $ 3 beers + half off appetizers. Had some good steak + shrimp. I would definitely go back!

Lickerish was the second bar we had hit up the evening and far more impressive(please keep in mind I was sober upon arriving) than the previous. The atmosphere was fun and light, our waitress let us have most of the upstairs to lounge around in like our own private area and bantered back and forth with us; and the DJ played almost every song requested. The drinks were great, and the food to go with them as well. I would definitely come back here.

We battled against ordering either the«Beefy Mac», macaroni with a rose sauce and sautéed beef topped with goat cheese; or the«Cheesy Mac», macaroni and diced tomato in a cheese sauce. Baked with a crispy panko crust. We were persuaded to choose the latter when our server mentioned this was the more commonly ordered of the two. In retrospect we should of had the former. This is something so simple and easy to make at home, it was not worth $ 10 for the effort. The pasta was tasteless, in need of salt and ironically cheese. A 49 cent package of Kraft Dinner Mac and Cheese would have tasted better. Our only solution was to ask for salt and pepper. But after the delivery of our food we never saw our server return to our table. We concluded she would not be back, not even to check on how we were enjoying our meal, if indeed we were. So as with our drinks we had to get up and chase her down for some seasonings for our tasteless meat. A good 10 shakes of the salt mill and 7 of the pepper was needed to give this macaroni and cheese some life. Oh I stand corrected, our server did return, only to take back the salt shaker, saying that another table needed it for margaritas. What restaurant only has one salt shaker? In the end not only did we have to approach her to ask for salt and pepper, but we had to chase her down for our bill, and even bring the cash up to the till to pay. And each time she kept us waiting at the bar with more important tables to tend to. Table one needed drinks. And table four needed plates. I felt very justified in the minimal tip we left. Even with her warning us that she was the only server in, I felt we were neglect more so than the other 5 tables. Would I come back? — No, and it is a shame. We were so excited when we stepped in to see portraits of hip hop’s elite line the walls; and heard 90’s hip hop classics we grew up with. Like Next’s «Too Close» and Aaliyah’s «Rock the Boat». The ambience is great, but the lack of skill in the kitchen and lack of service on the floor really put an unredeemable damper on our experience. The entire menu is a list of commonly found bar items available at any corner bar. Nothing truly original that insisted on being ordered. In fact, after tasting the entrees we skipped our desire for dessert. Instead we rushed to pay and went out in search of much better at much cheaper, else where. Would I recommend it? Yes. How often do see a bar that plays rap and hip hop songs, and even their remixes? More often do you hear rock or Top 40 while throwing back a brew. Music is so important as it helps sets the mood, and what is better than drinking and being able to sing along to a genre of music that you like? And who knows, we didn’t try any but maybe their cocktails are fantastic. There was a spiked lemonade made with guava juice and mojitos made with lychee or pineapple and vanilla. And with martini names like«Tantra Kiss», «Sexual Healing», and«Dirty Hooker», they can’t be bad can they?

A friend had a birthday celebration here recently and it was my first time checking the place out. Food: Appetizers were good, particularly the Tempura Yam fries Drink: OK selection. Prices were average for downtown Service/Atmosphere: The first bar staff member i dealt with was lovely, very chatty. The one who took over and brought drinks down to the table wasn’t as friendly and it was difficult to get her attention. Music was mostly hip hop which was cool but they turned the volume up towards the end of the night to the point where it was difficult to hear people. When i went to pay my tab it took ages to do so, when i eventually got the chance ‘my’ PIN was rejected, upon closer inspection they had inserted someone else’s credit card into the machine despite giving them my full name and telling them what the card looked like. At this point i just wanted to pay and leave. I shouldn’t have been so hasty, when i looked at the receipt the next day they overcharged me for 2 drinks… Will i be back? Only if i’m dragged

The décor here is pretty awesome. They had my two favorite saints on the wall: Biggie and Tupac. Then it had the to be canonized: Kanye, Jay-Z and Li’l Wayne. How could you not like this place? I would’ve poured a li’l out for my fallen comrades except they don’t serve 40’s and drinks are on the pricier side. The dj was spinning some great old school hip hop and some new school that put a smile on my face. The vibe there is more loungey so getting up to dance(at least on a Sunday night) didn’t feel like an option. The waitress was super friendly and nice and, unlike the last place we were at, managed to get all my drink orders right. I didn’t try the food so I’m not able to comment on that aspect of it. I’d def be back if I was in the neighbourhood.

Went here with a girlfriend one night to have a drink, a bite to eat, and catch up on stuff. Like the spacious seating and dark, lounge like atmosphere. Nice collection of cocktails at around $ 8.50. Some of my favourites, Caramel kiss and Fuzzy Peach. I like that they have white and red sangria. The food menu was okay and didn’t offer a lot of variety though, mini burgers, nachos, prawns… Service was fast and friendly.

I’m sure we’d go back, if we were there again, and just were looking for a place right by our hotel to duck into for a quick drink before walking another mile. We had no food(the kitchen was closed). Service was okay. Drinks were ok. The ambience was energetic in a hip-hop way, which I would normally enjoy, but instead it seemed kind of confusing. Apparently it reflected a kind of schizophrenia that seems to apply to the establishment. The woman who waited on us explained that they don’t have the right licensce to be a dance club but they«should» be a dance club. So, part of me wonders why someone would set their place up to look and sound like a dance club when they don’t have the licensces to do that(and maybe not enough space either). hmmm. kinda intriguing but also kind of annoying.

With $ 14 for a plate of Nachos before adding chicken or guac I would have hoped there would be more cheese… unfortunately not. HOWEVER the yam fries are amazing enough to be worth a star on their own. They’re dipped in tempura batter before deep frying and they melt in your mouth.

4 stars for location and vibe but the rest was just«Meh». I love open spaces so any place with a vaulted ceiling and and upstairs seating will call to me. Lickerish fit the bill. After a little wait our group of 5 was seated upstairs. A quick browse of the menu left me impressed and ready to order. As I waited to order I got to look at the interesting celebrity portrait work of Dave Benning, then to look out onto Davie and watch the sunset, then to look around at the others waiting to order and then finally to look for the bathroom(conveniently table-side?). On the way back I ran downstairs, ordering my groups drinks at the bar and asking that they be brought up. The drinks did make it up and were as promised on the menu but nothing I would go back for. We would have tried the food if we had seen the waitress again however we didn’t till we all walked down stairs to pay our bill. Great location, great bar just really needs some help with the service.

Decided to try this neat little place at the corner of Hornby & Denman. I had taken a look at the recipe before hand and was drooling over the large selection of Martinis. I, along with my friends hadn’t eaten dinner so we got some tapas to share: 1. Bruschetta — nothing special, I wouldn’t order it again if I went back 2. Pistachio crusted brie with strawberry butter — DELICIOUS!!! The brie melted in your mouth and the pistachios with strawberry was so tasty/ 3. Asparagus risotto with truffle oil — I love risotto. so when our surroundings smelled like burnt cheese, something didn’t seem right. with that said, it was disappointing and the two strands of asparagus it came with was salty and unappealing 4. Potato Spring Rolls — I liked the crunch of the spring rolls and there was lots of potato in the rolls. I thought this was a nice change to the meaty spring rolls. 5. Vegetarian Pizza — nothing special. The portion size was small and it didn’t blow my mind. 6. New York Style Cheesecake — The portion size was good, but the caramel sauce was just a blob on the plate. Thank goodness it tasted delicious. 7. Chocolate Mouse Napolean — I love chocolate and it melted in my mouth like I was in heaven :) I thought the martinis were a little small, but still full of flavour. I had the blueberry bliss and lychee mojito. I wish there was more lychee and mint flavour. it seemed very light. I would go back for drinks(they are good for that). Not for food, unless you are getting the brie!
