Other than the overall look of the place from the outside and the scenery, the entire experience was tragic and only seemed to get worse and worse. The food was by far the worst part. The menu was a joke, things were not labled properly items with onions didn’t say they had onions and vice versa. My gf had the crab cake burger which I tried and it was disgusting. I had the AAA«Prime Rib» burger a.k.a $ 2 frozen patty shaped in an oval. It was horrible, worse than I expected. The service was not very good on top of all of this, she made a couple mistakes and did not apologize or comp us for anything. Annnnnd the prices were bad! The meal cost me $ 60 and I ended up with an angry rage and stomach ache. Avoid this place at all costs.

EDIT: As of August 2011, this place is under new management and has apparently improved drastically. I’ll have to write an update down the road. Seriously disappointed. Massively overpriced for the quality. This place is a sham. Very nice building, interesting if not conflicted interior design. Updated but pretty normal pub food menu with fine dining prices. My initial impression was«this place tries to sell itself as way higher class and quality than it is»… I should have heeded that feeling. We(group of four) sat down rather hungry and I had a sinking feeling that the food was going to be mediocre at best, sadly I had overestimated. The appies came out and I was somewhat surprised, the calamari was cooked nicely, my smoked duck was alright, the pot stickers were at least average and the stuffed mushroom caps were enjoyable. With my expectations rescued out of the gutter I let down my guard and looked forward to entrées. The $ 28 dollar 10 oz NY steak(yes you read that right, twenty eight dollars), which was supposed to be medium rare, came out well done and the sides looked sad and tired. The steak itself was totally unimpressive looking, tiny and leathery. «It’s like a shoe» said my too-polite-to-send-food-back guest. I could have bought steak and frites at Brasserie l’ecole for that price. My «prime rib burger» came(and I’ll just about bet the farm on this) straight out of a frozen costco box or something similar, the patty was honestly terrible and cost about $ 14. I found two pieces of bacon on my burger that were not just overcooked, but literally pure black. My fries tasted frozen as well(though that I’m not as sure about). They were bland and the texture was not pleasant. The«Mom’s home style meatloaf» looked generic and was drowned in gravy. The meatloaf came with a side of mac and cheese that was formed into some odd skyscraping baked tower. The unfortunate recipient of this dish is a fan of meatloaf and mac & cheese, and is not a picky eater, yet ended up leaving half of both items on her plate. The side salads(especially the julienned carrots) looked so wilted and limp that neither of us even touched them. On the bright side, we had a more than competent, pleasant server. It seems this place is selling(and pricing) itself as something close to fine dining, but really it puts out mostly poor quality pub food. I’m pretty confident that more than a couple of our meal items came frozen and/or pre-made. I think most of the elements are there to have a good restaurant/gastro pub, but the cooking has to come way up to match the prices they charge.
