I feel really stupid for not heeding all the warnings that are written about this company. Theft, destroyed furniture, missing items, I got it all.
If you own junk that you don’t care about, sure, hire Vega Moving. If even remotely value your stuff, pay extra. There’s a reason it’s so cheap.
I had my things shipped from Ontario to Alberta. $ 0.52/lb. The Unilocal discount doesn’t exist. I was told $ 0.52/lb right off the hop. I asked about the 30% Unilocal discount at the time, oh yes all well and good on the phone. When I get the invoice it’s still $ 0.52/lb, I inquire, suddenly their regular rate is $ 0.70/lb and I have the discount. The math doesn’t add up on that I say, of course now oh i forgot says Vega the rate is $ 0.80/lb. Just dodgy and tricksters all around.
Now here’s the kicker. I paid in cash. I know the exact bills I had. I took them out from then bank that morning. The bank counted then to me. I counted them. I put them all in an envelope. Exact cash $ 3524. I was stupid to hand it over and not count it back with the thieves and of course suddenly there’s on $ 3424 they say. I had 25x$ 100 bills, now there’s only 24. I am 100% positive these losers straight up stole $ 100. I make a fuss obviously, they deny, what am I to do, my stuff is on their truck.
Scum bag company. I feel like a moron for not listening to the people on this. Stay away.

We paid to have another company take our items to a government scale first. Then we get a call from vega after they had picked up our stuff saying that it was an additional 2000 lbs. Can you believe it. We told them we had already had it weighed and they were going to re weigh it… and miraculously it weighed less again. Our stuff came all damaged as too what we can see and have pictures of. Who even knows about the items in the boxes.
When they picked up our furniture there were 3 guys, but at drop off there was only 1 guy with a dolly.
Who moves thousands of dollars of quality furniture with a dolly? THEY DO!
Never again.
We will not be taken advantage of, and you shouldn’t either!

Other than losing the parts for my bed, scratching the front face of the dresser; forgetting to load my desk and chair; everything else was fine. All they could say was «file a claim with the claims department».
Be very careful of their quotes. They were nice enough not to charge me the extra 3% credit card fee (they never said there would be an extra charge). Who would have thought that by shipping more, it would cost less (I dont mean the cost per pound either). If I shipped 2000 lbs. it would have cost $ 300 less than the actual weight that was 1820 lbs. Maybe this is normal in the industry but how often would a customer question that?
The guys that delivered are contractors and did a great job.
