One of the best bakeries! Their honey cake, chocolate cake and éclair were so delicious. Creamy not sugary sweet.

Unilocal brought me here and I felt like I have to check out Russian Spoon. Fast service and friendly staff. I personally found the portion being small. I got cabbage roll and some beef Pelmanis for $ 7.95. Didn’t like how I got 1 pc of broken dumpling there. It tasted alright. I enjoyed cabbage roll though. It was mixed with rice, beef and some tomato sauce. I used sour cream for dipping and felt it was too bland for me. I could use some hot sauce if it was around. Then I also ordered cottage cheese Piroshky bun($ 2.85). I loved the soft texture of the bun. Filling was okay. I think I should’ve got different flavour. This wasn’t my first time trying Russian food and tried some in states before. I really liked Piroshky buns from Seattle. Russian Spoon is okay. I don’t mind going back to give another try.

One doesn’t expect to find Russian food in a mall food court, so was pleasantly surprised to find Russian Spoon at Royal City Centre. Didn’t know much about Russian cuisine but everything we’ve tried has been wonderful. Had cabbage rolls, pierogies, beef stroganoff, and my favourite the borscht. Nothing like a bowl of borscht on a cold, rainy day.

Great home-cooked meals! Authentic Ukrainian borscht and Polish bigos! Definitely a gem hidden in the Royal City mall. Honestly, did not expect such quality from a food court joint — this place deserves to be a full-blown restaurant!

It’s a bargain for home-style good food. I had a cutlet with potatoes, cabbage and a salad. It had that authentic taste and quality you just don’t get at mall food courts and budget eateries. My next visit is for borscht and beef stroganoff… Well my friends’ cabbage rolls looked great. Piroshki, vatrushka, pelmeni — it’s hard to find food like this in Vancouver
