Only can judge this place on the hazelnut truffle and it was delicious! Reminded me of what I had in Belgium.

Disappointing!!! They used to have a good Opera but that has long since disappeared. Their other pastries seem merely sweet – e.g. The«mendiant’, the bottom of which is so sweet it ruins whatever tastes they are trying to include in the rest of the pastry. The ‘mocha’ is fairly acceptable but a poor shadow of the ‘opera’ they had last year. I do miss that. It would be impossible for even the most dedicated pastry lover to eat an entire ‘mocha’ or ‘mendiant’ as they are too sickening. Wishing to give them every chance, I’ve tried the almond and raspberry(or strawberry?) strudel-type concoction but that reaches new heights or lows in sickliness. Unless you want to feel nauseous for several hours afterwards, a few bites is all that should be attempted(if you do go there and you do, out of desperation, buy one). Awful. Seriously, the reviews here must have been written by the owners. Have you seen the long one that lists all they offer? I can’t imagine a customer going to such lengths. Despite the high cost(tea is $ 2.95), I used to very regularly visit their Various outlets but have stopped as the standard and availability of their pastries leave much to be desired. Although there is a Marius et Fanny very near my home, I now travel a great distance by car to another place where the pastries are far far superior. What a shame for me and lost custom for them. Perhaps they feel they are doing well enough on second-rate pastries but can they imagine how well they could be doing if they didn’t lose customers like my husband and friends? Haven’t tried the food/lunches etc. The young people who work there are always friendly and welcoming. This soi-disant Provençal pastry shop wouldn’t last a week in France…

A great place for pastries, chocolates, sandwiches and salads. The 75% hot chocolate was the best I’ve ever had. I may drive home through Montréal just to go back to Marius et Fanny!

Was walking around the area and found this place. It’s a little tight with a few tables, but there’s a lot of selections. During this visit, I got a chocolate croissant and tried their cocoa. I didn’t ask to heat the croissant up since it was just made, but they did it anyway. So customer service was good. I’d recommend it as a good spot to rest if you’ve been walking around too much during afternoons when the weather sucks and you’re wondering why you’re visiting a country up north when it’s winter!

We came here looking for a chocolate box gift, and we were pleasantly surprised to find a pretty good range of beautiful chocolate including a few truffles. They have some pretty unique flavours including almond sesame, chai tea caramel, red wine, and fleur de sel butter caramel. I decided to pick up an almond croissant along with our gift, and it was flaky and delicious. I’ve heard good things about the hot chocolate here, but didn’t get to try it on this particular visit.

Definitely worth a visit. Croissant: 12⁄20 Crust 4⁄5 Interior 2⁄5 Butter 2⁄5 Color 4⁄5 — Crispy/crunchy exterior, nicely browned appearance, bready interior texture, light on buttery flavor.(Reference points: Pierre Hermé, Fauchon) Chausson aux Pommes: 10⁄15 Appearance 3⁄5 Texture 3⁄5 Filling 4⁄5 — Firm crunch on pastry, exterior is coated with well caramelized coarse sugar. Apple purée filling is nicely sweet, small on quantity. Overall portion size is smaller than average.(References points: Du Pain et Des Idées, Fauchon, Lenôtre, Ladurée, Poilâné) For the two together $ 5. Pleasant, welcoming young staff. Lots of variety in products. Mainly a chocolate shop, but offers all the classic viennoiseries and sandwiches(which looked quality). I’ll be back to stuff my face with a sammy next visit. A bit of outdoor seating available.

I had a lemon tart here that wasn’t fantastic. I’ve had fresher with more lemon flavour. A plus is that they serve Kusmi teas(with a huge selection), and also that the piece of chocolate that came with the tea was actually very tasty. The service was good, ambiance was ok as well. They also have a nice patio outside. Probably won’t make a special trip to return back here but wouldn’t rule it out if I happened to be in the neighbourhood and wanted a coffee.
