Always a pleasure at this Keg we went to celebrate our one year anniversary, 2 min wait for a table and fast service! We had the calamari to start it was delicious then we both had the keg classics caesar salad then New York steak with mushroom and veggies Scot had the fries! It was extremely good and perfectly cooked, then when we thought we couldn’t eat more they brought us a free dessert for our celebration the delicious coffee tasting cake it was to die for

Went with my lunch for with my wife. Had the escargot was delicious by the way much better than garden snails might I add! LOL. My wife had the 8oz top sirloin cooked to perfection and I had the sirloin oscar. Fantastic with the shrimp and scallops. The vegetables were seared to perfection as well. Washed our wonderful steaks down with a pint of Granville Islands finest winter ale! Topped off our wonderful meal with an amazing slice of sour cherry cheesecake. The waitress who has looked after us before was wonderful, patient and inviting. We were out to have a romantic lunch away from our teenager and our server had no intention of rushing our orders or our bill. The environment was quiet with romantic lighting. The chairs were cozy and inviting. Every aspect of our experience today was perfect. The quality and quantity of food was just right, the beer was cold and the service from Alex I. This experience was perfect. Highly recommend a visit or if it’s been a while a revisit is in order.

After missing my office’s Christmas lunch here, since we were out of town, my husband agreed to make up for it by taking me out for dinner. I was a little disheartened when I called at 4:30 on a Friday night to discover that I couldn’t put my name on the list(even though were driving straight there) but the Keg more than made up for it with their reservation system. After showing up at the hostess stand to a fifty(50) minute wait, I was able to sign up for a text message with the understanding that upon receiving it, I’d need to return within ten(10) minutes. While I undoubtedly was hungry(I’m always hungry these days) this allowed us to venture off the property and take care of some shopping at Buy Buy Baby in the meantime. And this, was MUCH preferred to waiting in their over-crowded loud entry way or to hopefully locating a spot in the lounge. I was more than excited when the text showed at just the right time(we were pulling out of the parking lot to head back) and we were able to walk right in to a table prepared for us. In other words, things worked exactly as they should… with no hiccups. While the restaurant is nosier than I would have liked(as per the dark setting), the waitress was attentive and friendly, and the food was delicious. I was thrilled to finally find somewhere in town that could make me a virgin margarita, and my blackened steak(ordered with«¾ of the blackening») was spot on for my taste buds. I wasn’t able to finish my meal and packed away over half of my twice-baked potato but gladly accepted a few bites of hubby’s mud pie. *Note to self — Maybe start with dessert next time! The things that kept The Keg from a five-star review: long waits, limited parking, and a louder-than-preferred environment. However, if you want an excellent meal, sign up for a text message, and know that this restaurant comes highly recommended by me!

Amazing service with a nice ambience you expect from this restaurant. We started the evening with drinks n nachos. Ended up staying in the lounge area for dinner. Ordered Oscar(one of their specialty) Colorado style which was cooked perfectly. But disappointed with the quality of meat which was very chewy and spoilt the entire experience. I rather pay ~$ 20 – 40 more and go to a nicer steakhouse(like Ruth Chris) for better quality meat. This is a good place for drinks n sides(share plates) with a nice ambience n service.

I had just visited the Keg earlier this week and wish I could give it a better review as I have been many times and have had a great experience. We arrived to the Keg 10 minutes prior to our 7pm reservation(party of 10) and were told our table would be ready right away the restaurant was also not busy as people were walking in begin us and seated right away. After watching the clock for 25 minutes I went up to ask when we would be seated and again was told it would be right away. I asked to speak to the manager who then came out at 7:45(45 minutes after our reservation) and told us «thats just the way it goes and we had to wait» he was not accommodating at all nor did he have a professional attitude, nor did he apologize once. Thankfully our amazing servers made up for the horrible service provided by this manager but unfortunately will not be booking any future parties here.

I arrived 4:30 pm on a Friday and decided to sit in the bar area. Service was VERY slow! I look at keg as being a «nicer» restaurant to go to and was surprised my experience was more of a typical local bar. The waitress had no idea what drinks were on special, they were out of the wine I ordered and she didn’t know either. I ordered the prime rib which was ok, I wish their sides weren’t all just potato options. Fries, baked or mashed… Id really like some variety, I dont even eat potato. I went with the vegetables. Just a basic expensive meal.

This is me and my husbands Favorite resteraunt of all time. We come here for every special occasion and it never fails to impress. I always get the blue cheese filet and it is always cooked perfectly. We get wonderful service ALWAYS and even though they don’t take reservations on the weekends which is kind of annoying, it’s worth the wait every single time. I absolutely love love love this resteraunt and this location in particular is great because it is always consistantly good with service and food. One thing that would make it even better would be if when you’re waiting for a table if they came around with wine tasters or a drink menu so you could have a glass of wine while you wait.

We came here last month for a special dinner. I thought The Keg was similar and equal to Joey’s while my husband thought it was better than Joey’s. We had fresh baked bread, a salad and two good appetizers. By the time our entrees came we were too full to eat any more. We took our steaks home instead. I ate my steak for breakfast the next day. I cant’ remember what kind of steak I ordered, but let me tell you.. .the steak was tender and juicy and the melted garlic butter made it taste more bomb diggity. I really like the Keg and we will definitely return again. As for customer service our waitress was quick but she lacked warmth, personality, and she rarely smiled; she was almost like a robot.

The Keg is by far our favorite restaurant. The only problem is that the waiting list on a Saturday evening can reach upward of 2 hours. The wait is well worth it. The food is always superb, the service stellar. My wife & I went there to celebrate our anniversary. She had the Teriyaki Sirloin which was cooked perfectly to her liking, «well done but not burnt», a very difficult thing to achieve with a sugar based sauce. The Prime Rib is always awesome. To top off a perfect evening they brought us dessert on the house. Cherry Cheesecake that my wife describes as an «O****m for your mouth!»(edited for the young Unilocaling audience).

Went to the keg last night for a family dinner and was blown away by the food & service received. We were there celebrating a family members new job & our waiter took care of the dessert on the bill :)

This is a solid steakhouse. Using Alberta beef, it’s nice to support local farmers. It’s not cheap by any means, but at the price of beef these days, neither is it cheap to eat at home! My last trip there, there was a 45 minute wait to get in the restaurant part, and a few self seating tables in the bar/patio, so it was an easy choice for my friend and I to sit in the bar area(it was too hot outside for me, so I veto’d the patio, though it is quite nice out there as well! I’m pale. I burn easily. That’s life.). The service was on top of things the whole time, and we soon had our drinks, a watermelon mojito and a strawberry basil lemonade, in front of us. We just went straight into the main course, with no appetizers other than the complimentary bread, because we know the portions are going to be huge. Our steaks were done to perfection; juicy, tender and beautiful. We both did mashed potatoes and enjoyed every bite. The only downside to this place is reservations. They only have limited Reservations accepted Sunday — Thursday, so forget trying to book in advance a night out on a Saturday or a holiday, and you can look forward to standing in line for an hour or two. I’ve waited 2+ hours on NYE for a table at this location. It’s insane. We seriously lucked out that it was a nice weekend, because people were at the lakes and the bar had a seat open because we went on a Saturday night, but had we any minors with us, we would have been stuck waiting 45 minutes for the restaurant. This is the only thing that takes the place from a 5 star to a 4 in my books.

Being from Vancouver, where the Keg originated from, I have eaten at The Keg many times. Every time I’ve eaten at the ones in Vancouver, customer service and food is very mediocre. Nothing special. Decided to eat at the keg in Edmonton before dropping off one of my friends to the airport. I was not expected anything spectacular but definitely received extremely good customer service! Our waiter(didn’t get his name but he had brown hair and glasses) was amazing! Super friendly and helpful! He was extremely attentive and knowledgable when it came to their menu. Me and my friend ordered new yorks steaks and my cousin ordered lobster and steak. We also had two appies, which came out fairly quick. We told him that our friend needed to be at the airport and he ensured out food would be out quickly. All the entrees were amazing! My steak was cooked exactly how I wanted! The lobster also looked amazing, I regretted not ordering it. Overall good experience at The Keg in Edmonton, definitely my favourite location ! Will be coming back to this location before I head back to Vancouver!

I had never been to the South Edmonton Common branch of The Keg, but I would happily return or recommend it to a friend! We were there for the Lobster Summer Menu Tasting and had a great time meeting new people over delicious food & drinks, served to us by an impeccable staff! We tried the Szechwan Lobster, Crispy Lobster Tacos, Lobster Roll, Steak, Half Lobster, and Lobster Tail, all on one night! And they were all amazing, even though I am not a huge lobster fan! It was one of the best dinner experiences of my life, to be honest, and that includes the beautiful and cozy atmosphere! I don’t know why I don’t come here more often, but I think that’s about to change! I Heart Edmonton

Had a lovely time here the other day. Not really because the staff were personable but because they were quick and did their jobs well. The food was good and we had a fine meal.

I was a bit apprehensive coming here last night(Wednesday night) after reading reviews that complained about the poor customer service. I’m happy to report that my dinner date here turned out to be excellent with top notch service! Our server was Amber K and she served my boyfriend and I on the patio. She was friendly, unobtrusive and did a great job. We started with caesar salads because I always enjoy Keg’s caesar which comes with crisp romaine, shards of parm, croutons, and a lemon wedge. The meal also comes with some delicious and more importantly warm, sourdough bread with butter… it totally hit the spot! I ordered the rib steak unaware of just how HUGE this behemouth was! The portion of meat was so large that I could only finish a third of it(the rest I took home). I opted for the grilled veggies on the side, which although good, were all slightly undercooked. The ribsteak came perfectly cooked to a medium rare though and it was delicious! My boyfriend ordered the filet mignon wrapped in bacon(his favourite) and it also did not disappoint. He likes his blue rare, which is exactly how the meat arrived. For sides he chose french fries(Keg fries). We also shared a glass of sangria which was perfect on the patio and delicious to boot! By the end of the meal we were both stuffed with no room for dessert(or to move for that matter!) The patio was a great place to eat and relax. Although it was a warm evening, there was a breeze throughout the meal which made the visit even more enjoyable!

This is one of the best chain restaurants in the city, as evidenced by the fact that it is almost always busy. Nice décor, courteous service that is very attentive, and quality food are some of the things which make this location great, especially since they can be counted on to deliver these consistently. I particularly love the Prime Rib and Crème Brûlée.

I really must say, as a full grown adult who was not drunk I am really unimpressed with the keg tonight… And that’s not with anyone except their manager Bobbi. I have to say, I have never been asked to leave an establishment, however this is the first time. Had I had a couple of drinks, absolutely. Why do you think I’m sitting in a bar. The problem that I have, is sitting there and an hour after after I’ve been sitting there, I’ve been asked to leave with no issues other than an over zealous manager. I meant Bobbi’s manager and I felt sorry that he was unable to watch back the pvr and see how much of an over zealous manager that they employ. I sat at the bar for another hour conversing with another patron who was not only gay, but puzzled by Bobbi who is a manger. Today’s day and age allow us to be all encompassing but to what degree? My bartender Chris was awesome… And I was never allowed food thanks to Bobbi, the manager. Belonging to many business associations and organizations, I find it difficult to see Bobbi’s point of view as I never purposely harmed either staff nor patrons and the only person who had an issue was Bobbi, the manager. I am sadden by the misunderstanding Bobbi felt towards me and the unfortunate events that occurred as a result.

Took my husband for birthday dinner last night and the service was exceptional. After a short wait we were seated and they immediately brought my son a snack plate! I was so grateful cause he is only 16 months and I always worry when we eat out if he is going to behave. I was grateful that they were very helpful and the food was hot and Tasty! Thanks Adam! great service ;)

I love a good steak. The keg is always a good choice for amazing food and very good service. This location is no different. The lighting and mood is very intimate to have a date or to have good conversations with friends. I loved the lobster bisque. It was creamy and very flavourful. I highly recommend it. For my steak(why would you order anything else at the keg?) I had the mushroom onion Manhattan. It was cooked to perfection. A nice pink all the way through for my medium rare. And for dessert we shared a cheesecake and the brownie sundae. Both of them were awesome. If your in the mood for a high end steakhouse this location will not disappoint you.

Wife and I came here to celebrate our anniversary. We love The Keg bit honestly, this location didn’t exactly live up to Keg standards that we’ve become accustomed to. After a half hour wait(expected) we were shown to our table by the hostess. After that we had to wait way too long for our server to even greet us and offer us some water. After half an hour of waiting for a seat I would prefer to have our server greet us right away and at the very least offer some water as I was getting thirsty. After that it was another long while before our server came back and took our order. She was around a couple times helping other tables but it felt like she forgot about us. It wasn’t until we had to turn around and give an impatient look to some guy walking around with an iPad that we got service. Then she promptly came over and took our order. My wife went for the Prime Rib while I got the Top Sirloin classic meal. We ordered calamari to start. Great! But not. A few minutes later our server comes back. They’re out of calamari. Fine. We’ll go for the crab cakes, which isn’t such a bad choice but you only get two for a whopping $ 13. However, they’re actually pretty good… if they aren’t cold. Unfortunately our crab cakes were definitely cold although still edible. Not even luke warm! We told our server and she offered to get us new ones but we were so hungry by then it wasn’t worth it. At the end they didn’t charge us for it so at least they were able to correct that situation. Thank goodness there were no more hiccups the rest of the way. Steak was good as always and double baked potato was double baked as always. We got a dessert on the house as we were celebrating our anniversary. It was a nice touch to cap off an evening that started off rocky.
